Tamil Schools Sports Association (TSSA), the oldest Tamil sports body, together with other sport bodies in UK, is proudly organising an annual International Tamils Sports event to

recognise and reward the top sporting talents within Tamil Community and

encourage the sports among younger generation.

Event Sponsors can be benefited through our following

advertise our event. This event will be broadcasted most of the countries Including

Canada, US, Australia and Sri Lanka. Nominations will be sent all the sports bodies, clubs and

personnel's. Event will be covered lively through nominated medias.

About 2000 souvenir will be printed and sent to most of the Tamil Diaspora sports bodies .

About 400 selected people will be participate to our award ceremony.

This event is accommodating many non Tamils in various stages of the awards ceremony Eg. Selection panel, Chief guests and

Politicians

NOMINATION Anyone can nominate an individual for this Sports Awards.

There is no limit to the number of separate nominations that can be made by any one organisation or individual.

The deadline for submitted forms is Friday 15th January 2010.

A panel appointed by Tamil Sport Awards Committee will shortlist the top three nominees from each category. The top three nominated candidates will be invited to attend the awards night and the final winner will be announced on the event on 6th February 2010. And this panel’s decisions are final no correspondence will be entered into regarding the decisions.

  To be eligible the nominee must be:

Must be a British Sri Lankan Tamil ( for Cricket, Football, Netball and Athletics)

A current resident in UK (At least last one year) Life Time Achievement can be from any part of the world but must

be Sri Lankan Tamil

• Tamil Schools Sports Association (TSSA) was formed in 1992 to promote sports amongst Sri Lankan Tamils residing in the United Kingdom

• TSSA started with merely a handful of Old Students Associations (OSA) and now has more than 50 OSAs covering all major Tamil schools associations

• Governed by an elected committee in accordance with its own constitution

• TSSA holds two major annual sporting events in UK – a Football tournament (usually in the first Bank Holiday in May) and a Sports Festival of Cricket, netball and volleyball (in August Bank holiday Monday)

• It also extends its support for the promotion of sports within Tamil Community in Sri Lanka

• TSSA is funded by voluntary contributions, funds collected through sporting events and sponsorships.

Tamil Schools Sports Association (TSSA) Introduction

• This is the first such International event ever held within our community. Therefore event should be planned in such a way that it captures the attention and get the support from the community and the sporting world.

• Event shall give every potential candidates and the community a new enthusiasm and energy

• More importantly the right message should reach the community and getting an award in this event in the future should be one of a dream for a young sports men or women within Global Tamil Community.

• A successful event in 2010 can open up new possibilities within the Tamils Sports

• Sports and Sporting Sprits shall enhance the community

• Encourage and Promote sports within Tamil Community

• Recognize Sports Achievement of Tamil Community in Britain, Sri Lanka and other parts of the world

• Provide Scholarships or Incentives for potential sports personnel with Tamil Community to develop their skills further and challenge in International Stages

• Provide advice, assistance and support for young Tamil Sportsmen and Sportswomen to challenge national and international stages

• Integrate the Tamil Community by Sports
