How are rooms assigned?Rooms in the Alumni and Cartier residences are assigned based on your entrance mark at the residence confirmation date. We assign based on students’ first choice preference while space is available, then assign by the second-choice and finally, by the third-choice.

Double Room: $5,552-$6,191*
Where will I eat?You must purchase a meal plan. Meal plans—which provide nutritious, fresh, and ethnically diverse food options for students—range from $3,910 to $4,520* per year for first-year students. They are accepted at nine campus locations and five area restaurants.

Outstanding Scholars ProgramThis award is geared to high-achieving academic students. It also provides a one to one academic appointment with professors in your field in year’s two to four.
University of Windsor Women in Engineering ScholarshipWomen entering the Engineering faculty directly from high school can apply for this $1,000 award.
In-course Scholarships and AwardsWe offer a variety of awards for students in their second, third and fourth years of study through In-Course Scholarships and Awards.

You will have the opportunity to add valuable work experience to your resumé by applying for work on-campus, off-campus and after graduation.
Field Placements/PracticumsMost of our academic programs have practical experience built right in, and some offer field placements and practicums.
Volunteer Internship Program (VIP)VIP students participate in supervised situations at field sites, working with various non-profit or not-for-profit community agencies and government offices. They contribute at least 40 hours of volunteer work over a 10-week period to gain career-related, work experience.
Co-operative Education (Co-op)Our co-op programs allow students to combine their academic studies with paid work experience.
Post-graduation Work PermitCanadian government allows international students who have graduated from a recognized Canadian academic institution to work in Canada for up to a maximum of three years. More information can be found at www.cic.gc.ca

We process student applications on a rolling admissions timeline which means the earlier we receive your complete application package, the earlier we can process your application, and the earlier you can hear from us. Considering you will also need to apply for a study permit to come to Canada, we suggest you start the application process as early as possible.

2) Submit your documents
• Official transcripts or notarized copies are required from all institutions you have attended (both secondary and post-secondary). Translation is needed if the official documents are not in English.
• English language proficiency score
• Portfolio (if applicable)
• Official post-secondary course descriptions are required to assess your eligibility for transfer credit.

3) Check your application status: Once you have applied you may track the progress of your application online. Always quote your application reference number (start with the letters ‘IT’ followed by 7 digits) or your UWindsor ID on all correspondence.
4) Accept your offer by returning the completed confirmation form sent along with your Acceptance Response Form to [email protected].
5) Apply for a study permit: If you are not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or landed immigrant, you will need to obtain a Study Permit to study in Canada (www.cic.gc.ca).
6) Register for courses online: once you have accepted your offer of admission, you will receive information to register for your courses online. It is important that you register for classes before arriving in Canada for best course selection.
7) Pay your tuition fee: After selecting your courses, you must arrange to pay your fees in order to finalize your registration.

Minimum Admission Requirements for Undergraduate ProgramsAfrica and Asia
Countries following the British System - Advanced level standing on the GCE or equivalent as listed under the United Kingdom.
Other African and Asian Countries - Senior Matriculation and/or completion of First Year at a recognized university depending upon country.
Bangladesh
Higher Secondary Certificate/Intermediate Certificate.
Central and South America
Senior Matriculation and/or completion of First Year at a recognized university depending upon country.
China (PRC)
Senior High School Graduation Examination + Chinese National University Entrance Examinations.
Europe
The Senior Matriculation Certificate as required by a recognized university in that country.
India
All-India Senior School Certificate awarded by CBSE/Indian School Certificate (awarded by ICSE)/completion of Standard XII as awarded by one of the
official state boards of India.
International Baccalaureate
Full diploma must be completed with passes in six subjects with at least three at the Higher Level and with a grade total of at least 24 and no mark
less than 4. In addition, the candidates must meet the prerequisites specific to the Faculty to which they are seeking admission.
Malaysia
Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM); Certificate of Unified Examination of the Malaysian Independent Chinese Secondary Schools
System (MICSS).
Middle East
The Senior Matriculation Certificate as required by a recognized university in that country.
Pakistan
Intermediate/Higher Secondary School Certificate.
United Kingdom and Commonwealth
Five Passes on the General Certificate of Education including two at the Advanced Level or, four passes on the General Certificate of Education,
including three at the Advanced Level. A minimum grade of D is required in the Advanced Levels.
Science and Engineering must include Advanced Level Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry; Nursing must include Advanced Level English, Biology
and Chemistry; Commerce must include Advanced Level Mathematics.
Ontario and Other Canadian Provinces
The OSS Diploma (or equivalent) and six Grade 12 U or M courses, including ENG4U, are required. All programs require a minimum admission

“I have been in Windsor since fall 2012. I finished the English Language Improvement Program (ELIP) and started university study in spring 2013. ELIP is a helpful program that gives international students academic preparation for university study as well as information about Canadian culture. My English has improved and I know how to study for university as well.” Yimeng Ge (Crystal) is a second year student in Business from Chongqing, China. She worked for the University’s student summer training program in summer 2013.

English Language Proficiency
If your native language is not English, you must demonstrate proficiency in it to be considered for admission. This can be done in the following ways:
For Undergraduate Programs:
1. A minimum score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or
2. A minimum score of 60 on the Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL); or
3. A minimum score of 85 on the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB); or
4. A minimum score of 83 with essay 20 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Internet-based Test (IBT);
5. Successful completion of at least three years of formal, fulltime study (not less than four courses per semester) at an English language secondary or post-secondary institution.
6. Successful completion of the English Language Improvement Program.
English Language Improvement Program (ELIP)
ELIP is a comprehensive, year-round English language program designed to prepare non-native speakers of English with the language skills necessary for university study. Successful completion of ELIP level 3 meets the English Proficiency Requirements for academic admission at the University of Windsor.
Summary of ELIP:
• Student-focused program with small classes to accommodate individual needs and learning goals.
• Four progressive program levels (ELIP Foundation, ELIP 1, ELIP 2, ELIP 3).
• Integrated lessons targeting all language areas (Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening).
• Field trips, social activities and class excursions are other popular features.
• Students are exposed to approx. 25 hours/week of language training.
• Certified instructors to teach English as a second language.
• Accredited by Languages Canada.
• High success rate in the academic programs

Masters Admission
A student with a four-year degree or equivalent in the discipline to which s/he is seeking admission, and who has an academic standing of at least 70% in the final two years of study may be admitted to a Master’s program.
PhD Admission
An applicant for admission to a graduate program leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy must have either a Master’s degree or, in exceptional cases, a four-year Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent; his or her academic standing should be unquestionably superior.
English Language Proficiency
A satisfactory score on an English proficiency test is required for all applicants whose native language is not English. The requirements for English proficiency vary by program, please visit www.uwindsor.ca/grad for information.
GRE/GMAT
The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Assessment Test (GMAT) scores are required for certain graduate programs.
Scholarships
Applicants who also wish to be considered for scholarships must submit a complete application package by the following earlier deadlines: May 1 for September admission; September 1 for January admission; January 1 for May admission.

The Centre for Executive and Professional Education (CEPE) facilitates professional growth through our course-based graduate degree programs.
In partnership with faculties and departments, we provide an exceptional student learning experience that reaches beyond the university’s campus. Our graduates not only further their careers, they also carry with them the knowledge of best practices taught by our world-class faculty and associates.
We offer the following graduate degrees:

• Master of Mechanical Automotive Engineering with a co-op option for direct, hands on experience.
