General Description

M.POS2002 Mobile EFTPOS

M.POS2002 is a highly secure, wireless Electronic Funds Transfer at Point of Sale

(EFTPOS) terminal. M.POS2002 communicates using TCP/IP via public wireless

networks such as GSM, GPRS or CDMA, thus making it suitable for payments

anywhere regardless of the availability of a telephone line.

M.POS2002 passed the EMV Level 1 & Level 2 certification for new smart card banking products, the PCI PED certification for pin entry devices, thus paving the way for its acceptance by leading financial institutions, companies and merchants worldwide. In additions, it has been certified with international and national banking associations, individual banks and also as a telephony device. It is therefore an authorized banking device capable of accepting banking cards for payments made to the merchants that use M.POS solutions. In addition to being used as an wireless pos device, the M.POS2002 can also be configured to run a range of other applications, thus making it the ultimate multi-application device for Value Added Services. This is a key differentiation which, aside from the convenient wireless communications, makes M.POS2002 a world-beating business tool

Safety Instructions

IMPORTANT

To ensure an efficient and safe operation of M.POS2002 Terminal, kindly observe the instructions properly.

Terminal

DO NOT put your finger over the paper cutter. DO NOT touch the metal contacts.

Cradle

DO NOT put any conductive material into the four pins of the cradle. DO NOT touch the metal contacts.

Battery

Do not short-circuit the battery. Accidental short-circuiting will occur when a metallic object (coin, clip or pen) causes direct connection into the + and - contacts of battery (metal strips on the battery). Short-circuiting your terminal may damage battery or connecting object. To protect against such unwanted current drain, care should be exercised in handling any charged battery. DO NOT PUT your battery inside any container with metal objects.

Low Temperature Use

The liquid crystal display and thermal printer used in your terminal will behave differently at an extremely low temperature. You may notice that the liquid display responds slowly to key-pad and the thermal printer may not be able to print anything on the thermal paper.

Power Key

Indicates the Power On/Off key of the terminal.

Power On/Off Procedure

To Turn On

• Press and hold Power Key for two seconds. When LCD is on, it is ready for use.

To Turn Off

• Press and hold Power Key until 3 “Beep” appear.

Volume Control Key

Indicates the Volume Control Key of the terminal. Press this key to raise or lower the earphone volume of the terminal.

Earphone Inlet

Indicates the position to plug in the earphone.

AC Adapter Inlet

Indicates the position to plug in the power cord.

RS-232 Inlet

IOIOI Indicates the position to plug in the RS-232 cable.

Smart Card Reader

Indicates the position to insert the Smart Card.

Battery

Charging a New Battery

A new battery is supplied in a totally uncharged state. To ensure the optimum performance, a new battery (or a battery that has not been used for a period) should be charged at least 12 hours before use.

Important

• DO NOT use the battery for other purposes. • DO NOT use damaged or non-functional battery. • Never expose your battery to an extremely high temperature (over 60°C). • Only M.POS2002 battery can be placed in the terminal or cradle for charging. • DO NOT use lithium ion battery at an extremely low temperature. • To maintain the longevity of battery, charge the battery at or near room temperature. • To maintain the longevity of battery, do not overcharge the battery.

Removing the Battery

• Switch off the terminal before removing the battery. Failure to do so may damage the terminal memory of the terminal.

Warranty

• Warranty shall be void, if the battery label is damaged or removed. • Six (6)-month Warranty from the date shown on the battery label.

Troubleshooting

No Problem Solution

1

Terminal does not work or nothing is shown on LCD

Check whether the battery is placed properly in the terminal. Battery may be in low capacity. Plug in AC Adapter to see whether it works.

2 Cannot connect with GSM, GPRS network

Check if SIM card has been inserted properly into SIM slot.

Cannot download program from PC to the terminal

Check if RS-232 cable is connected to COM port of PC. Check if an appropriate COM port driver is installed in PC.

4 Printer is not working or LCD displays "Printer Cover Open! Reprint"

Open and close the printer cover again tightly.

5 No printout is shown on receipt Check whether the thermal paper is placed properly

Printing speed is slow and printing quality is poor

Check the battery level.

7 No response in the Terminal Remove the battery and cut the AC Power Supply from the Terminal, then re-install the battery again.

Accessories

The following accessories are designed to work with your M.POS2002 Terminal. Additional accessories are available for sale and packed individually. Please refer to your local service provider or retail outlet for information.

M.POS2002 Cradle

The cradle allows you to charge a battery fitted in a terminal and a spare battery simultaneously. The cradle allows you to connect the terminal to a PC through a RS-232 cable and to connect the terminal to a telephone system via a telephone cable. Caution: The cradle must work with the supplied Power Adapter.

Power Adapter

The Power Adapter allows you to connect to the Cradle or directly to M.POS2002 Terminal. When connecting to M.POS2002 Terminal directly or to the cradle, M.POS2002 Terminal is still in operation even the battery has run out. Caution: The Power Adapter must work with an appropriate Power Cord.

Cigarette Lighter Adapter

The Cigarette Lighter Adapter allows you to connect to M.POS2002 Terminal where you can charge the battery whilst driving. It also allows M.POS2002 Terminal to operate even the battery has run out. Caution: The Adapter must works with 12V Car power supply.

Power Cord

The Power Cord allows you to connect the Power Adapter to AC main.

RS-232 Cable

The RS-232 Cable allows you to connect the Cradle or M.POS2002 Terminal to PC. It also allows you to download program or data from PC or upload program or data to PC.

Earphone

The Earphone allows you to connect to M.POS2002 Terminal.

Telephone Cable

The Telephone Cable allows you to connect to the Cradle. It also allows you to connect to a telephone system.

Thermal Paper

A custom-made Thermal Paper is designed for M.POS2002 Terminal thermal printer. The Thermal Paper should be of a size equal to or smaller than 57 mm in length and 38mm in diameter. Warning: For best printing quality, please use Thermal Paper provided by M.POS

Operational Functions

Power up the POS

Press and hold the POWER key on the left side of the POS terminal for 2 seconds and the Display will show: IBSP POS Terminal.

Display Menus

The POS display has different menus such as; start, settings, tests, diagnostics, GPRS signal levels, battery levels and communication information, more about this can be found in the mPOS technical manual.

Merchant Login

Merchant have to use the IBSP Merchant Chip Card with a private 4 digit PIN code to be able to login to the IBSP POS terminal. After login all transactions will be logged at the merchant internet banking merchant account at the IBSP main Server. The PIN code can be maximum entered 3 time and the card will be locked.

Connection to users merchant account

After login with the merchant chip card to the POS the merchant have to wait for the POS terminal to be connected to the online IBSP banking merchant accounts at the IBSP server. When online connection is established the unit is ready to be used. The display with show ONLINE as a status when the POS has contact with the IBSP internet banking merchant account.

Supported cards

Supported card can be arranged different from different customers requirements but

normally Visa, MasterCard and IBSP debit bank cards are supported.

Chip Card Purchase

For the customer to make a purchase with the chip card enter the chip card with the chip upwards and enter the PIN code then answer the questions asked on the POS terminal display. The information required by the POS terminal will be as follows: 1. Enter the purchase amount, then press (OK) 2. Enter the customers PIN code then press (OK) 3. Wait for the online check of the used Card, if validated the POS will start print the merchant receipt, then press (OK) and the POS will print the customer receipt. If the purchase is not approved the POS will print a not valid receipt.

Magnetic Card Purchase

If the customer only have a magnetic strip card, swipe the card and wait for verification from the issuing bank and when this is approved the POS will print two receipts of which the customer have to sign one for the merchant to keep and the customer will keep one receipt.

Finger Print Purchase

If the customer is registered at the IBSP internet bank system with fingerprint account

it is possible to make online purchase from the users IBSP backoffice account where

the payment amount will be transferred from the users IBSP internet banking account

to the merchant account.

Cash Purchase

The merchant can make cash sales and use the POS terminal as cash register with online registration of the paid cash amount, this amount will be registered at the merchant IBSP internet banking backoffice as cash sales. Activate the Cash function on the POS and enter the amount and press (OK). When the registration is done at the IBSO internet banking system the POS will print the receipt for the customer.

Open new user account

Users can open a IBSP internet banking account direct from the POS terminal with instant access to the IBSP Internet bank system. There are two different ways to open an account. After the account has been opened the user can login to the IBSP Internet banking system at www.ibsp.net from any computer to complete the settings and information needed to operate the account. For more information about the IBSP Internet banking system see the IBSP Internet banking Users guide.

Finger print account

Any user can register a finger print account by registration of 4 fingers at the POS terminal where these 4 finger prints will be registered at the IBSP Internet Banking system as the main account. The user can then make purchases direct with the finger print from 2 of the 4 finger prints. At the registration procedure the user also have to enter a valid e-mail address. The user can then check his e-mail and follow the instructions how to arrange a secure login to the IBSP internet banking system.

Mobile phone account

Any user can register a mobile phone account at the IBSP Internet banking system the user then enter his mobile phone number (including international prefix) as 0046xxxxxxxxx and a valid e-mail address to the POS terminal. The IBSP internet banking system will then send an SMS back to the registered mobile number with a one time authentication PIN containing a 6 digit code, this 6 digit PIN code shall be replied back via SMS to our Server within 10 minutes in order to finalize the registration.

Customers reference Mobile number

Each transaction done on the POS terminal can be marked with a mobile phone

number by the customer. This function can be used by the customer to follow the

different transactions done by him. The user can log in at the IBSP Internet Banking

system and get a complete log of the transactions done by him. As soon as any

transactions is done to or from the users IBSP internet banking account the user will

get an SMS with the transaction data.

Reports

The merchant can at any time make a printout report of the current sales from the POS terminal, each printout contains card and cash information during the merchant login time to the POS terminal.

Today's Cash Report

The merchant can make a summary printout of the days cash sales at any time of the day. Each report will show logotype, address, date, time, POS ID, Merchant ID, receipt number, Item name, quantity, unit price, total price, total amount and a message to customer. For more detail information refer to mPOS technical manual.

Today's Card Report

The merchant can make a summary printout of the days card sales at any time of the day. Each report will show the logotype, address, date, time, POS ID, Merchant ID, receipt number, card data, name of card holder, amount and auth code. For more detail information refer to mPOS technical manual.

Today's Total Sales Report

At the end of the day the merchant can make a total printout of all different transactions and amounts done during the day, this is used for the auditing reporting of the total sales during the day. Sales report will show the logotype, address, date, time, POS ID, Merchant ID, receipt number, card data, name of card holder, amount and auth code with list of card sales and cash sales. There can be BATCH and EXIT reports per user or all users, with SUB total and GRAND total amounts with CR for credit and DB for debit. For more detail information refer to mPOS technical manual.

Void payments

If some purchase have to be void the user enter the Void function on the POS

terminal and enter the transaction ref number and wait for the online registration of

the void purchase and give the receipt to the customer.

Merchant Login to IBSP web-site

Each registered Merchant can handle his internet bank account from any computer connected to the Internet, after login to the IBSP main site, http://www.ibsp.net

Login data contains of the e-mail address and password entered by the user when he register as new customer. The PIN code is sent to the user to the registered e-mail address. To login enter the e-mail address and password from the computer keyboard and the PIN code with the mouse from the virtual keypad as this keypad

change every time you login to increase the security. After login the user has new menus where he can follow his different activities such as: Virtual Business (My Business) and Virtual Internet Banking (Back Office).

START menu

The Start menu shows which services the user have purchased. The user can just click on the different links to get access to these services. The different available services are:

1. Virtual Business platform 2. Internet Banking Backoffice, corporate accounts. 3. Internet Banking Backoffice, private account.

Merchant Login to the IBSP Internet banking backoffice.

After the user have logged in to the IBSP Merchant Internet Banking Backoffice he can see all transactions done from the Point of Sales terminal for each day.

A detailed account overview with the current balance is shown.
