I saw the Future and its AWESOME!!It would be great if we could see the future when we are digging into our niches….sadly that isn’t the case!
But we can get pretty close to seeing the future if you follow a few simple steps!
The other day we looked at the #1 mistake you should avoid when choosing a niche and today I want to go over a few simple steps to make sure that you are, in the words of Charlie Sheen: Winning!

Traffic…Keywords and all that Jazz!
I HATE keyword research with a passion…..I find it boring, tedious and I put it off as often as I can…..However it has it’s place! It is one of the FIRST things I look at when entering a niche, and this is exactly what I do….No more….No less.
#1 Go to Google Keyword Tool
#2 Enter my Niche Keywords
#3 Add up the number of searches from any of the keywords that I find are relevant to the niche.
That is it!
At this point I don’t want to know whether I can compete on the search engines….whether people are buying…..Nope none of that interests me here.
What I want t know is…..are people searching for stuff in my niche….
I want the totals to add up to at least 5,000 searches a day (Around 150,000 a month)

Are there $$$ to be made?
If you are going into a niche you want there to be some sign that people are making money in the niche….
Are people selling physical products online? i.e Amazon, Ebay etc
Are people selling stuff digitally? i.e Clickbank, Kindle etc
If you cannot find at least 3/4 different products on any of those…..you are onto a loser…
If you can…….WINNING!
Are there $$$ being spent?
Another excellent indicator is whether other marketers are spending $$$ on advertising……if they are it’s a very good sign that there is money to be made.
Other marketers wouldn’t be spending…..if they were not being profitable.
Tell tale signs: Banner adverts, Google Adwords, Facebook Ads….
So there you have it! It’s not quite Mystic Megs crystal ball, but it can give you some very good indications of whether it is a profitable niche or not!
