Internship Journal- Week 4 July 9-13Name: Worker BeeSchool: East Forsyth High SchoolCompany: Dream Job Insurance Agency

July 9- Day 15This week on the job was pretty boring, considering I worked on the same project everyday. At least on Monday there was a celebration for all of the July Birthdays, and since mine is on the twelfth everyone sang happy birthday to me. Today I also was ask by my boss Anna, what my work schedule would be like for the rest of the summer, after I responded to her e-mail she asked it I would be interested in working some during the school year. This made me feel like I was doing a good job and that she had confidence in my abilities, even though I had to tell her no due to my extracurricular activities. As for work I continues on the January Cash clearing spreadsheets.

July 10- Day 16Today I was elated to have finished January’s cash clearing only to find out that I had to start on December 2006. This made me wonder if the cash clearing spreads had ever been completed and how far I would have to go back. I was happy to find out that Transource didn’t acquire their Fayetteville location until 2007 so from now on I would only have to do the spreads for five locations. To take a break I helped Margie file some of the invoices she had just cut checks for, luckily they were in alphabetical order so it made it a lot easier. By the end of the day I had finished the December 2006 Cash clearing. This month was easier because Scott sent me the spreadsheet as an Excel document so I could find the amounts faster using control F.

July 11- Day 17Today I continued with the Cash Clearing spreads, but for November I had to print them out because Kathy was busy with her own project. I wasn’t hard I just had to copy and paste them from the AS400 to and Excel spread. This time I also decided to turn the entries red n the screen rather that to print them out and highlight. I thought it might save some time in the long run. This time I also decided to go though the CRV’s by date instead of location. On the pervious months I felt I was wasting time by going though the month’s CRV’s six times when I could cut it down to one.
