Genesis of the MagnumDisk™
When our CEO, Lynn Frazier, was a young boy his father called him into their chicken coop one evening to gather eggs. His father placed an egg in Lynn’s hand vertically and told him to attempt to break the egg by applying pressure to the convex ends of the egg. Lynn obliged and attempted to prove his father wrong. He squeezed as hard as he possibly could but the egg wouldn’t break. Fast forward to 1997, Lynn was presented with a challenge from one of his customers. At the time most differential tools had a thick, flat glass barrier which were difficult to break. Lynn was determined to create a thinner barrier that would still hold significant pressure. During the design phase, Lynn recalled that night in the chicken coop and the MagnumDiskTM was hatched. If you look, the concave/convex portion of the ceramic disk is almost identical to the end of an egg. By 1999 the MagnumDiskTM was granted its first patent. Since, over 150,000 have been run globally.
