INTERVIEWING SKILLS

Many professionals believe there are only a few questions that recruiters concentrate on when hiring at the executive level: Can the potential new executive perform the requisite job duties? Will the individual fit well into existing company culture? Will he or she continue to care about doing the job well over the long term? No matter the actual wording of interview questions, all of them are designed to critically assess the candidate's competence, fit for the position, and motivation.

INTERVIEWING SKILLS

Prepare for the interview by thinking through and rehearsing responses to often-heard questions regarding your own strengths and weaknesses, short- and long-term goals, and successes and failures. Be specific. Remember to state your interest in receiving a job offer and ask what the next step in the hiring process will be. Finally, ask about the major problems the company needs to solve and explain the methods you would use to solve them. Show how your unique skill set can add value to the organization.
