amanujan : Maths Week. Army Public School Birpur, Celebrated the Srinivasan Ramanujan’ Week in the month

of January. The primary objective of the celebration was to encourage learners to get involved & dispel math’s phobia and create a love for the subject and to perceive the connections of mathematical concepts with real life situations.

outh Parliament. A “Youth Parliament” was org by Mr Ajay Swaroop (Guest Faculty –Political Science)

and Mrs Neetu Kant Uniyal (PGT History) in the school campus on 25 Jan 2018. It was conducted by the cl-XI students of Humanities .Two bills were introduced in the Houses, which were – “Women Empowerment” and “Campus Language”. Both the ruling party and opposition party had tug of war on both the bills and excellent points were put forth by the parliament in front of house and spectators who attended the session XI A, B, C and XII D. The students were designated as the Speaker of the House .Home Minister, Prime Minister, and opposition leaders etc.

epublic Day Celebration.

A special assembly was conducted in APS Birpur to celebrate 69 Republic Day of

India. There was a speech on Republic Day by Jitendra Singh of NDA club. A patriotic Hindi poem was recited by Riya of class VIII B and Kalpana of class VIII D .Later Mrs Neetukant Uniyal and Capt (Retd) Ajay Swaroop explained the Preamble to the students.

lag Hoisting. Army Public School Birpur celebrated the Republic Day in the school campus. The

celebration started with the hoisting of the tricolour, singing or reciting of the National Anthem and NCC parade. The Principal Mrs Bindu Sharma. Principal addressed the students and the staff with the present educational programme and the storm and stress adolescents face and deal with during the process of growth. She also focused on the various impact and effects on what kind of stress student’s face and how it can be dealt with. She mainly focused on the dodgy behaviors such as recklessness, norm breaking and various level of antisocial behavior and how to deal with them. Students at the end took the pledge to sharpen their sense of dignity and to work for the welfare of self and the society.

nternational Leprosy Day.

APS Birpur conducted an Anti-Leprosy day talk/lecture on 31stJan 2018. The lecture was

delivered by the Med officer/staff of 414 Fd Hosp to spread awareness among the students of the school. The aim of the workshop was to let the students know about the symptoms and cure of Leprosy and to make our country erected leprosy. The talk was attended by the students of all the five sections of class IX.

lassmate Spell Bee.

Classmate spell Bee conducted in APS Bipur premises on 20th Jan 2018.Ms Kshitija from classmate conducted the competition in middle wing .Nearly 580 students participated in this competition. The question paper was objective type with OMR sheet where they had to mark the right answer and the duration of the test was 30 min. the students got their unique ID along with the question paper to check their result. The objective of the competition was to provide students with a positive goal to work towards and give them a platform to display the fruits of their hard work. The competition did not only provide a valuable educational experience to our students, but also allowed them to engage in healthy competition. All the students participated with full fervor and absorption.

BSE Regional Science Exhibition. APS ,Birpur students visited the science exhibition organized at Asian School on 20th Dec

2018 .The students learned about the functioning of several models. Models were based on different principles of science.

now Your Army Mela, 2018.

In an effort to raise awareness among the local populace about the Indian Army,

‘Know Your Army Mela’ was organised on 22nd and 23rd January, 2018. The two days mela exhibited not only the display of weapons and counters for recruitment but it also included the counters of the army schools in the town along with cultural pgme. APS, Birpur enthusiastically participated in Know Your Army Mela. The children performed a mesmerising ‘Maa Stuti’ dance and were acknowledged for the same. The dance performance by the children received high praises from the audience and were felicitated by Maj Gen and Mrs SS Mahal. Another attraction of ‘Know Your Army Mela’ was the stall set up by APS, Birpur. This thought by the students was even acknowledged by an esteemed local newspaper, ‘Amar Ujala’. DRC Workshop:

TGT English Workshop No 77 was org from 18-22 Dec 2017 at FDRC Delhi. Mrs Kavita Sharma attended the same. It aimed to developing speaking and listening skills, developing reading skills. Lesson Planning, followed by Demonstrator by teacher on enrichment activities and projects for English. The session on making scheme put up on CBSE website with Pedagogy of teaching prose and poetry and ended up with the up valediction by FDRC Faculty.

NTACH Workshop.

Mrs Kavita Sharma, TGT from Army Public School, Birpur attended a two day Teachers training workshop org by Heritage Education and communication service of INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) with the support of the Ministry of culture at JMS Dehradun.

BSE Math Workshop.

A capacity building pgme for two day on 28- 29 Jan 2018 was organized by CBSE at

“Asian School, Dehradun headed by Mr Aashok Sharma (Principal, DAV Kotdwar) and Mr Anurodh Chitra, Principal, Vidya Bhavan School, Raibareilly) to meant especially for Class X Math teachers and it covered the following topics:-

(a) Constructivism (approach to teach Math’s) (b) Gender Sensitization (c) Life Skills (d) Multiple Intelligence

Army Public School Birpur participated in a painting competition on the theme “Rispana Returns” was held in the Chief Minister office on 26 Jan 2018 which was initiated by (MAD) Making a Difference by being a difference. 7 students from Army Public School Birpur participated and schools of Dehradun were invited by CBSE to participation in this event. The winners were Shivang Chauhan bagging first position and Ankita Rawat third position Piyusha Swarnkar and Himanshu bagged consolation prizes.

ARENT TEACHERS MEET 27th Jan 2018

Parent Teachers Meet was conducted on 27th Jan 2018 for classes’ I to XII. The

parents got to know about the academic performance of their wards for UT 2. They were also informed about the status of syllabus and the scheduled for the upcoming Annual Examination. All altogether the parents of all wings appreciated the working of the school and values being imparted.
