2018 ANNUAL REPORT

Dear Friends,

As spring transforms to summer, this season seems like an appropriate time for all kinds of transitions.

LifeWay Network has grown so much as an organization. This year we welcomed our 100th resident into the safe house program and reached over 1,000 people through 23 separate educational program events. This is an ideal time for a fruitful new beginning.

After 12 wonderful, inspiring years building LifeWay Network, I will be stepping down as Executive Director in late July. I am delighted to announce that Marion Kendall will be my successor. Her extensive experience in social services and her passion for supporting vulnerable populations will bring fresh energy and a new perspective to our mission.

I’m also delighted to announce that we are launching a brand new program at LifeWay Network. The Welcoming and Inspiring New Growth as Sisters (WINGS) Restorative Community Mentorship Program will debut this October. WINGS was borne out of conversations with current safe house residents and alumnae, who told us how challenging they found independent living after LifeWay. WINGS will provide a network of support, a healing community, and an opportunity for mentors and participants alike to build on essential life skills and grow in loving relationship. Under Marion’s leadership and the combined talents of our volunteers, residents, and alumnae, WINGS will become another critical extension of our mission.

My heart is very full when I contemplate this new opportunity to serve trafficking survivors in community with the many supporters, donors, volunteers, and friends who have helped us to grow and thrive. It is a real gift to have the chance to work so closely with so many people I admire. I am excited to be continuing this work in a fresh capacity through the WINGS program.

Thank you for your presence in the LifeWay Network community. I look forward to embarking on this new chapter together.

With deepest gratitude,

Sr. Joan Dawber
