Camp Guidelines
A. Cabins are assigned based upon 75% usage. If the group desires to “spread out” campers in additional
cabins, then an additional fee will be applied for each additional cabin.
B. Group leadership early arrival can be arranged based on availability for an additional charge. They must
arrange with Jenness Park Guest Services in advance. This does not include any meals.
C. Contracting group agrees that failure of individuals attending full-time to partake of all meals will not
reduce the cost.
D. One meeting room is provided for each group. Final meeting room assignment is subject to change by
Jenness Park.
E. There must be a 1:8 counselor/student ratio per sex for every camper under the age of 18 (one adult
sponsor per every 8 students or fraction thereof of the same sex).
F. Meal times are carefully scheduled by Jenness Park. Please refer to your contract for your exact meal
times. Groups are expected to eat at their assigned meal time.
G. We ask that you clear and wash tables in dining hall before leaving after each meal with sponges provided
in the green buckets.
H. No food or drink is permitted in the Chapel, Conference Rooms 1 & 2, Little Bear, or Visitor’s Center
meeting rooms.
I. We discourage food in the cabins because ants and rodents love your snacks and will come after them.
J. The entity under contract is financially responsible for any damages to the property by the group or
member of the group, except normal wear and tear.
K. Please turn off all lights, projectors, sound systems, etc. when not in use.
L. Please keep doors and windows closed in cabins when heater is on.
M. Please do not use thumbtacks when hanging items on walls. The camp office has blue painters tape that is
suitable for using on the walls. Do not use duct tape on floors or walls.
N. Jenness Park prefers there be no smoking on the property. However, for those adults who must smoke, we
require that smoking be restricted to the parking area behind the dining hall. This smoking restriction is
extremely important since the camp is located in a national forest. NO SMOKING IN CABINS OR
RESTROOMS.
Check Out List
A. All cabins must be broom cleaned prior to departure. Please pick up all trash on a daily basis. An
additional charge will be billed for necessary excessive cleaning labor of cabins, conference rooms, or
grounds. At the end of your stay, our Accommodations Staff will inspect all cabins and conference rooms
to insure that everything is in order.
B. Please complete the Evaluation Form which will be included in your Welcome Packet and turn in to the
Guest Services Staff before you leave. The information you provide will help us make important
adjustments so we can be continually improving in our ministry to guest groups.
C. Meet with our Marketing Coordinator or Guest Services Staff to reserve dates and start the contract
process for the following year. You will have first priority, for 30 days, to rebook your dates for next year.
D. We are encouraged when you have professions of faith in your groups. We have a bell that is rung only by
those who accept Christ as their personal Lord and Savior during their stay at camp. Please inform the
Guest Services Staff of any first time salvations and set up a time to ring the bell before your group leaves
camp.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Accommodations
We have a variety of housing accommodations for your group to pick from. Your coordinator is responsible for
assigning guests to the assigned housing accommodations. Use the Bedding Assignment sheet,
www.jennesspark.com/Facility Rental /Accommodations, to assign a room/cabin to each guest. Please assign all
beds in each cabin before opening up another building of the same housing level. Unassigned rooms will be
removed from your allotment by Jenness Park. Additional cabins may be provided upon request if available.
Registration
Please contact the Marketing Coordinator to make your reservation. Your Group Contract will be sent to you with
required deposit information. Retreat details and registration are handled in one account through the Retreat
Coordinator from your group. All guests attending a retreat at Jenness Park, regardless of age, are required by law to
be properly registered and have a signed Camper Information Form (www.jennesspark.com or p. 27)
For Groups staying longer than three nights:
According to California Health and Safety Code, a camp that is longer than 72 hours (three nights) needs to have all participants screened for communicable diseases. This screening is merely a question and observation report which will upon arriving at camp be reviewed by a Health Supervisor. If a potential camper or counselor is deemed “communicable” during the screening the participant should not attend camp. In order to provide for a safe camping environment, we at Jenness Park Christian Camp have created a simple Health Screening Form to be filled out for each participant desiring to attend camp (p.28). If your group is going to be staying for three nights (or more) then Jenness Park will require, upon arrival, a Health Screening Form for each of the participants which have been completed within the 24 hours prior to your arrival at camp.
Jenness Park will provide your retreat coordinator with wristbands upon arrival at camp. All guests must wear
a wristband.
There is no discount for campers arriving late or departing early. All campers are required to be paid at the
contracted camper amount. For more detail, please refer to the Preparation for Camp (pg.5).
Day-Use Campers
A part time camper is someone who comes just for the day and does not stay overnight. All part time campers must
make arrangements in advance with the Jenness Park office. Please contact the marketing for the current daily
visitor’s registration fee. Campers who do not declare themselves as part time campers in advance will be
considered full time and charged as such.
Your Retreat Coordinator must be aware of all non-registered campers, parents, friends, etc. that may visit the
campgrounds during your retreat. The leader is responsible for registering these guests and collecting fees. Only
registered guests are insured.
Notification
The completed Retreat Order Forms and a copy of your retreat schedule are due to Jenness Park by 9:00 am 30
days prior to the retreat unless otherwise stated on the Contract. Without your Retreat Order Form recreation
may not be available to your group as we need time to staff and prepare for recreation. After the completion
and return of the Retreat Order Forms, your Retreat Coordinator will be required to inform Jenness Park of any
changes in camper numbers.
29005 Highway 108 , Cold Springs, CA, 95335 * 800-258-7554 * Fax: 209-965-4179 * www.jennesspark.com Page 7
Payment
A deposit of 10% of your guaranteed minimum or the designated individual cabin amount is due with your signed
contract to reserve your retreat time. The balance of the agreed contract amount must be paid in full to Jenness Park
in one check or by one credit card upon arrival. Both your Retreat Coordinator and a Guest Services Staff member
will sign off on the detailed billing statement. Additional charges, such as corrections to guest counts, and other
incidentals will be collected at the end of the retreat or billed to contracting group and due two weeks from
departure date. Please make all checks payable to California Southern Baptist Convention (C.S.B.C.). Any
unpaid balance may be subject to 12% APR interest until balance is paid off.
Dress Guidelines
All clothing should reflect a Christian example to other campers. Only1 piece swimsuits are permitted. Closed toe
shoes are required for all adventure recreation. Bare feet are not permitted except at the waterfront activities and
volleyball courts. Shirts and shoes must be worn to all meals and meetings.
Audio / Visual
Audio/Visual equipment is available in each meeting room and dining hall, at no additional cost. Requested
equipment will be set up prior to the retreat as per your Retreat Order Form request. Assistance from our Guest
Service staff is available throughout the duration of the retreat. Video Projectors, portable sound systems, DVD
players, TV/VCR combos, easels, overhead projectors, and CD players are available. Equipment availability is
limited, and requests are considered with all groups in mind. Please make any additional requests on the Retreat
Order Form that will be sent to you forty-five days (50) prior to your retreat.
Medical Requirements
All participants must bring a properly signed Camper Information Form (pg. 27) to camp. Any accident, illness, or
first aid treatment must be reported to the camp office immediately. Any unreported accident will not be covered by
camp insurance. Camp insurance is secondary to personal and group insurance. Camp insurance is in effect only for
injuries occurring on the camp property. The injured party must present to the medical provider information on the
primary insurance carrier.
Jenness Park provides a first aid station and staff in the summer months for minor first aid treatment. Other times of
the year, groups are strongly suggested to provide their own first aid provider and equipment.
Insurance
Jenness Park carries secondary insurance that covers accidents only while campers are on the property. The
maximum coverage per person is $3,500, with a $100 deductible. Personal or parent’s insurance will be billed
first, as will the church’s or group’s insurance. Any sickness is the responsibility of the individual camper and the
parents involved.
Jenness Park’s insurance does not provide coverage during transportation to and from the camp, or for any
activities off the camp property. As a result, all youth groups should carry permission forms of their own to cover
any treatment that may be required en route and should also determine in advance which insurance policy is
primary (i.e. church insurance, parent’s , etc.)
The retreat coordinator must turn in a Camper Information Form for each camper at the end of the first day.
Failure to provide a medical consent form for a minor could result in delayed treatment for an injury. The lack of
telephone numbers to contact parents could prove critical in a situation where the camper is unconscious and cannot
provide information.
All injuries and illnesses must be logged in the journal that is kept in the first aid office. If outside medical
treatment is needed, the Guest Services Manager must be notified and the proper forms filled out completely.
Failure to do so could result in a denial of the insurance company to cover a claim. The camp director must be
notified if you choose to request an emergency vehicle so that proper emergency procedures may be followed.
In the event of any illness that needs a doctor’s attention, parents will be contacted to pick up their child and seek
such medical assistance. If parents are not available and the condition reaches an emergency situation, the child
will be sent to the hospital emergency room for attention at the parent’s expense.

cabin during the year when snow is not present. Roads must be kept clear of vehicles to allow access of staff and
emergency vehicles. During snow season, guests staying in Gold Rush and Ponderosa cabins are asked to park in
the back parking lot behind the dining hall.
CAMPFIRE / AMPHITHEATER
There are multiple campfire areas at Jenness Park. They are wood burning campfire pits with wood provided by
Jenness Park at no cost. The amphitheater has a fire pit that can be operated during seasons when the snow is not
extremely deep. This fire pit is part of an Amphitheater that has a combination of log and chair seating for up to
250. An adult must be present and supervise all scheduled fires. All fires must be scheduled with Guest Services
staff and no amplified sound can be used after 11:00 p.m.

Jenness Park’s rates cover all but the costs of ongoing development. Those who return each year realize that we are constantly improving our facilities to better accommodate the ministry. Many of those groups receive a camp development offering that they give to Jenness Park. Some of our future plans for development include remodeling the Gold Rush Cabins. Areas to remember
• Due to our high elevation, there is a greater tendency to become dehydrated while at camp. Please be sure to drink plenty of water during your stay. Water is located in the Dining Hall and on the deck during summer. Additional drinking fountains are located at the Chapel and on the main field.
• No pets are allowed at camp. A $800 per pet fee will be charged for any brought to camp.
• No alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, fireworks, or firearms are allowed on the grounds.
• One piece swimsuits are required for all female campers.
• During Winter o Bring chains with expanders. The CHP stresses that all vehicles (including 4WD vehicles) must carry
properly fitting chains during snow season. The last 2.4 miles to the camp is on a road that is very shady. During the snow season the highway will be clear, but the shady road will have severe ice patches that require chains or 4WD to navigate
o You may want to check our website for weather conditions prior to leaving for camp or search zip code 95335 on any weather website
o Inner tubes are available for use on Jenness Park’s tube run only o Skiers are advised to purchase lift tickets for Dodge Ridge Ski Resort prior to your coming. Be sure to
do so early and arrange for ski equipment rentals. Group rate tickets are available through the resort. Vehicle Information – Upon arrival, please park your vehicle and walk while at camp. The speed limit is 5 miles per hour in all camp areas. Driving is permitted on designated roadways only. It is dangerous to carry people on the outside of a vehicle. Jenness Park will not allow such activity nor will we assume responsibility for injury or death that arises from such. Motorcycles may be ridden for coming into and leaving the park only. They must be equipped with spark arresters. Permission must be obtained before any off-road vehicles can be used at camp.
