About Eco Wave Power

Eco Wave Power is the only wave energy company to ever win the Frost & Sullivan

Product Innovation Award. According to Frost & Sullivan, "Eco Wave Power efficiently

handles the prominent challenges prevailing in the field and offers an all-round solution

for effective energy harvesting. Based on the aforementioned performance drivers as

measured through Frost & Sullivan independent analysis, Eco Wave Power is the

recipient of the 2012 Frost & Sullivan New Product Innovation Award" . Such Award was

reinforced in 2013.

The company has developed proprietary technology for extracting energy from ocean

and sea waves and converting it into electricity. Such technology enables to deliver

effective, sustainable wave energy solutions, for affordable electricity prices.

The EWP system is being developed to produce electricity for cheaper price than

traditional energy generation methods such as oil, coal and gas, and also cheaper than

renewable energy generation methods such as wind and Solar.

.

EWP’s unique methods for Electricity production: The “Power Wing” and the “Wave

Clapper” are covered by a pending patent, with additional patents under

development. Eco Wave Power recognizes the importance of the creation and

protection of our IP, therefore we use the best experts in this field and invest

significant resources in the maintenance of our global intellectual property portfolio.

Our Technology

The EWP convertors draw energy from wave power throughout uniquely shaped

floaters: “The Wave Clapper” and the “Power Wing” that rise and fall with the up and

down motion, lifting force, change of water level, hydraulic air lock, and incident flux of

waves.

The “Wave Clapper” and the “Power Wing” are fully equipped with sensors which

continuously monitor the performance of the various subsystems and surrounding

ocean environment. As a result, Data is transmitted to shore in real time.

In the event of upcoming storms, the system automatically “recognizes” the type of

waves, and independently “decides” whether to raise the floaters over the water level, or

to create a process of floaters submersion into the ocean, in order to protect the system

from mechanical injuries.

Transmission

When the wave heights return to

normal, the system unlocks and

recommences energy conversion

and transmission of the electrical

power ashore. The motion of the

floats is then delivered to shore by a

subsea cable. The Shore- located,

machinery room”/hydro pneumatic

system (located on land, just like a

regular power station), converts the

energy from this motion into fluid

pressure, which is used to spin a

generator, producing electricity.

One of our clear advantages is that only the buoys and pistons are located in the water,

whereas all the technical equipment operates on land, thereby improving reliability and

providing easy access for maintenance and repair.

The floats are attached by robust arms to any type of structure, such as (but not limited

to) breakwaters, peers, poles, and floating and fixed platforms.

Why Wave Energy? A full two-thirds of the world’s population – 4 billion people – live within 400

kilometers of a seacoast. Just over half the world’s population – around 3.2 billion

people – occupy a coastal strip 200 kilometers wide (120 miles), representing only 10

per cent of the earth’s land surface. With this population distribution, increasing

human numbers and mounting development, the need for sea wave energy for these

coastal regions becomes evidently undeniable

Advantages of wave energy

1. Sea wave energy has the highest concentration of renewable energy. Sea waves are the result of the concentration of energy from various natural sources like sun, wind, tides, ocean currents, moon, and earth rotation.

2. Waves originate from wind and storms far out to sea and can travel long distances without significant energy loss, power production is much steadier and more predictable. This reduces project risk.

3. Waves near land tend to be parallel to the coast.

4. Wave energy contains roughly 1000 times the kinetic energy of wind. Hence it allows smaller and less conspicuous devices to produce power. Also, water being 850 times as dense as air results in much higher power produced from wave averaged over time.

5. Theoretically you can extract 40 MW of power per km of coast where there are gentle waves (say 1 M height) and 1000 MW per km of coast where the wave height is 5 M.

6. Unlike wind and solar, power from sea waves continues to be produced round the clock whereas wind velocity tends to die in the morning and at night. Solar power depends on sun and cloud cover.

1. The company was established in March, 2011.

2. In December 2011, EWP concluded its wave tank testing with approval from the

Hydro Mechanic Institute in Kiev

3. In April 2012, EWP installed its first real conditions power plant (10KW) on 2

breakwaters in the Black Sea, and collected data for power matrix.

4. In September 2012, EWP won the Frost & Sullivan Product innovation Award for

the 10KW system, where Frost & Sullivan decided that EWP’s technology has the

best chances of becoming commercially viable.

5. In May, 2013, EWP Joined Benjamin’s Netanyahu’s delegation to China, and

signed an investment agreement with a Chinese Governmental fund. The

investment will serve for the construction of the first 100KW grid-connected station

in Europe, and establishment of a JV in China.

6. In August, 2013, EWP signed an agreement with Jaffa Port, Israel, for the

establishment of a “show room” for its technology in the port.

7. Recently the company signed its first 5MW PPA for a commercial scale grid-

connected station in Europe. EWP is the first wave energy company in the

world to have such PPA

The Protocol submitted to Eco Wave Power, by the Hydro-Mechanic Institute, has

concluded the experiments as following: "All the floaters of Eco Wave Power

Company have proved their workability… According to the results of the tests, we

have reached a decision to recommend continuing the development of the energy

generation system that is based on such principles, and enlarge the model to larger

sizes."

Therefore, it has been decided to move on to the following stage, which is the

construction and testing of the medium scale model

Small Scale Power Plant

Only two months after the testing and approval of our small scale model (in

cooperation with the Hydro Mechanic Institute of Kiev), Eco Wave Power was already

in final construction phases of its' medium scale wave energy generation system. The

medium scale power plant is implemented on a pier in the Black sea and producing a

5KW from each floater.

The medium scale device produces 5KW from each floater, which means 10KW from

both at all given times, Resulting in 240KWH a day, and a yearly amount of

87600KWH .
