I am excited about this opportunity and plan to serve you to the best of my ability. OSA is committed to serving as advocates for the students of  NABSW. We have set many goals to accomp lish this upco ming year, therefore I encourage you to join the movement and actively  participate in strengthening the legacy of NABSW as we each continue to develop and grow as Black social workers. The overall theme for the 2011-2012 OSA administration is “Taking Hold of Our Own Dest iny”. As Treasurer and Chair of both th e Fundraising and Scholarship Committees, my main goal for this upcoming year is to see an increase of financial revenue for the student members on both the national and local lev els. I am also aiming to increase awareness about the various scholarship opportunities that are available to NABSW student members for their continued endeavors in education. In an effort to successfully carry out these visions, I need your support. Therefore, I am extending an inv itation to you to serv e as a  participant on one of the aforementioned committees. I am seeking creative and enthusiastic individuals who are genuinely interested in enhancing the services p rovided to the studen ts of NABSW. If you are interested in doing so, or would like some further information about the responsibilities of being involved, please contact me at os a - tr ea sure r @ na bsw .o rg .  Additionally , I would like for all chapter treasurers to connect and communicate quarterly via telephone con ference. The first call is scheduled for November 13 , 2011 at 7:30 pm EST. The dial-in and access number is: 1-218-9 36-4700 and *550109 . The remaining conference calls for upcoming year will take place on January 15, 2012, March 4, 2012, and June 10, 2012 each at 7:30 pm EST using the same dial-in information. Please check the OSA Facebook (National Association of Black Social Workers Office of Student Affair) page and the OSA Blog for updated information regarding the quarterly calls. The purpose of these calls are to touch base with one another and share on-campus and off-campus f undraising ideas and efforts, review budgeting strategies to ensure that each chapter has representation at the upcoming national conference in April
