  • LEARN - PERSONA

    A broad audience description never helps you focus on one individual. You can use personas to focus on the primary user. Do this by mapping some key aspects of their lives on the Persona Template:

    What does he/she do daily?

    What does he/she see happening around them?

    What does he/she hear people say in his/her social circle?

    How does he/she feel at the moment (at this stage of their lives)? And what does he/she think?

    Personas are archetypal representations of your audience to help better understand who you’re creating your concept for. They’re very useful starting points to kick-start your project and choose the right goal.

    Touring the world with his crew. Early last year he released a new album. He’s a very faithful and proud Christian. He shares this with his millions fans on social media.

    Hears a lot of negativity about his behaviour when he was younger and blames the internet for keeping that alive. He also hears a lot about violence against LGBTQ youth and wants to make a difference using his fame.

    Sees more and more other artists give in under the enormous pressure. He sees it’s taking its toll - both mentally and physically - on his close friends and wishes social media wouldn’t be as important as it is nowadays.

    Feels very connected with his faith. It feels right to speak up against injustice in the world. He thinks the negative spiral in news and media is taking it’s toll and is affecting his career as he had to cancels a few concerts.

    Time to stimulate the right side of your brain and activate your creativity. Draw whatever comes to mind first.

    Pick a keyword from your goal, this will be the focus of this exercise. Any word goes.

    Divide a piece of paper in 12 squares.

    Draw the first thing that comes to mind, thinking of the keyword, in the first square.

    Set a timer for 30 seconds.

    After 30 seconds pass your paper to your neighbour. Start associating on his/her drawing.

    Draw your association on the drawing of your neighbour in the square next to it. Repeat this process until all squares are all filled.

  • BUILD - STORYBOARD

    A prototype is a way to test your idea in a tangible situation. A simple, scrappy prototype will save time and let you focus on testing important elements.

    Duration: 30 min.

    Roughly define the main flow of your product. Write it down in clear actions. Clean and simple; keep in mind that your user needs to understand it as well.

    Draw a simple comic book-like series of these steps. Every step should be visualized so that another team member can understand what’s going on. There are many storyboard examples on the internet, if you need any help putting it on paper.
