    PREFACE

    The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority haslaid down that all those who wish to become Insurance Agentshall have completed from an approved institution, at least, onehundred hours practical training and shall pass theexamination conducted by the Insurance Institute of India,

    Mumbai or any other examination body. The IRDA hasdesigned the syllabus for the same and on its basis theInsurance Institute of India has published a book- IC-33Revised (Life Insurance). There are 17 chapters in the bookwhich deals in the matter that are basic and should be knownto everybody in the Insurance Industry.

    Though the contents of the book is simple and is beingtaught by the faculties at various ATCs/DTCs, it has beendecided to standardize the module and develop power point

    presentations on each chapter so that the learning is morefocused and the candidates are able to perform better. Thistraining is only the beginning and it will be our endeavor to seeour agents reaching greater heights. The role of Insuranceagents is highly rewarding and they earn the gratitude of their

    customers. Learning is a never ending process and agentsshould continue to acquire more knowledge, skills andincrease their competencies. It would give us immensepleasure if suggestions are forwarded for improvement in theModule.
