CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Cooperative banking is a retail and commercial banking organized on a

cooperative basis. It is an institution that take deposits and lend money in most part of

the world that includes retail and commercial banking. It also provide commercial

banking services such as cooperative federations and corporate business.

Security, reliability, and usability are being implemented in this banking services.

As the year passes by, this characteristics are associated by other factors such as fast,

computerized, and affordability. Until now, some of these cooperative banking services

still uses traditional way of archiving data and records. This issue sometimes has

become a great mishap to the services, human error and improper data and record

handling. Also, due to its manual banking process, slow transactions may be

experienced.

Another problem we could see is the traditional way of handling transaction.

Writing and handling transactions manually can be tiresome and sometimes may lead to

data loss due to human error.

In order to counter these problems, a simple solution may be applied. One of the

possible solution is to systematically archive all the clientsdata and records that will

still keep all clients information safe.

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

The general objective of this study is to enhance the cooperatives services

security when it comes to data handling, archiving and securing record information and

to be able to create an accurate report of all the transaction as future reference of the

cooperative.

Specific Objectives:

This study has the following specific objectives.

1.

To enhance the flow of every transaction at its maximum capability when it

comes to fast client to company transactions.

2. To secure all the clients vital information, records, and transaction records for

future reference.

3. To increase the cooperative programs credibility and standards when it comes

to data processing and handling.

4. To create an accurate year-end report of all the programs clients transactions.

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS OF STUDY

This study is limited to the Tipid Impok cooperative banking program based on

the municipality of Tagaytay City, Cavite.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This study is intended to strengthen the municipalitys Tipid Impok Program, and

to create a reliable banking transaction, enhance the capability of the program to

accommodate more clients even more up to the double of its current total clients.
