INTRODUCTION TO CHIEF GUEST (MOHANA -III) Dr.P.Krishnamoorthy received the B.E. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Thiyagaraja College of Engineering, Madurai, M.E. degree in Applied Electronics from P.S.G. College of Technology, Coimbatore, and pursued doctorate in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, in the year 2009. His PhD thesis mainly focused on development of signal processing methods for the enhancement of speech signal, degraded by various sources. Since June 2011, he is a Scientist in the Department of Healthcare Applications at Philips Innovation Campus-Bangalore, and is mainly involved in developing signal processing algorithms for innovative healthcare products. Prior to this, he was working as a Lead Engineer at Samsung India Software Center – Noida from 2009 to 2011. At Samsung, he was mainly involved in the research activities related to multimedia signal processing, like content based audio information retrieval and humming based music information retrieval. He has also received Samsung’s best knowledge sharing award in 2009. His main research interests are in digital signal processing, speech and audio processing and pattern recognition/machine learning applications. He has published over 30 papers in these areas in IEEE journals and other international journals. He has also filed five patents in the field of Multimedia signal processing and Bio-medical signal processing. He is also serving as reviewer for several international journals like International Journal of Speech Technology, Circuits, Systems & Signal Processing, Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Several National & International Conferences. We are overwhelmed in having such a great personality to grace this inaugural function. Hoping to get new insights from your shower of words, sir.
