COURSE DESCRIPTION Introduction to Counselling and Clinical Psychology [Name of the teacher, title of the teacher]Zoltan Kovary, lecturer [Department of the teacher]Department of Clinical Psychology and Addictology [E-mail address of the teacher][email protected] Office hours and place: IZU 414, Wednesday, 11:00-12:00 The schedule and place of the course: Tuesday, 17:15-18:45/ IZU 301 The goal of the course The course introduces the students into the field of clinical and counseling psychology: to clinical and counseling psychology as a profession and as a scientific field. First we take a look at and history of clinical psychology as a science, then overview the basic research fields: subjects, theories and research method .and application: assessment, therapy and other forms of using clinical knowledge. After that we take a look into counseling psychology’s basics and major fields. Conditions of the course completion The grade will be made up of the results of two exams: a mid-term and a final exam. The mid-term exam is a test covering the topics of week 1 to 6, and the final exam will have two parts a test and shortt essay questions covering the topics of all weeks. The mid-term exam will make up 30% of the final grade. If you do not pass the mid-term exam, you will have a chance for a retake with a deduction of one grade of your score. Passing the mid-term exam is the pre-condition for taking the final exam. The date of the mid-term exam is: 20th of october, 2015.The final exam will make up 70% of the final grade.
