Course Description
Length: 6 Hours Skill Category: 1 Core Level: 1 Prerequisites: None Equivalencies: None
This course is included in a college level course that is a prerequisite for all other
program courses. The program Automotive Technology Mopar CAP is a degree level program
offering an Associates Degree in Science. Students study automotive technology from a
systematic approach and the program is aligned with the national accrediting body the National
Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF). Introduction to DealerCONNECT is
used during the first week of class in the program. The manufacture does not provide training on
using the website for new users. This course was developed for students that have not had access
to the website and will be required to use it through out the program. The website is used by the
manufacture as a portal to all communications from service manuals to training. This course
covers information from how to sign in, to navigation through the website. Information on how
to access the Chrysler Academy is included and training courses will be opened at the conclusion
of the course.
This lesson plan provides an agenda for class time and lab time. The course consists of
approximately 70% hands-on training.
Student Profile
Students in this course will have tested college level on placement exams or have
previous college course work. Students have passed an interviewed for the program after
applying and being screen by admissions. Students are required to be eligible for employment in
industry and pass a background check and drug test. Student population varies greatly in age,
race, and gender as demonstrated by the chart below. While demographics are diverse the
primary age range is between 21 to 25 and male. Students primarily meet face to face and this
will be their introduction to the online component of the program.

Course Objectives
1. Students will be able to access the login page for DealerCONNECT and login with
their student ID.
2. Students will be able to navigate to the service tab and select TechCONNECT.
3. Students will be able to look up the service information, Technical Service Bulletins,
and Engineer Assistance for a composite vehicle.
4. Students should be able to access eFiles and documents from the main page of
DealerCONNECT.
5. Students will access the Chrysler Academy and enroll in the first introduction course
for certification.

Course Flow
This is a one-day course lasting between 5 and 6 hours. This course will be to help students login to DealerCONNECT for the first time. DealerCONNECT is Chryslers portal to all things related to vehicles operations and information. This course is designed to allow students to have time to explore the features and navigation of the site as well as link to the Chrysler Academy.

Classroom Setup
This class should be conducted in a computer lab. All students should have access to a computer
that is Internet accessible. Students may also bring their own laptops to the class. Students should
be informed that DealerCONNECT is designed to work with Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0 and
Windows Operating System.
