2018 International Summer Studies Program Incheon National University, South Korea July 2nd to 27th, 2018 Changes taking place in world systems today, unique in both their scale and scope, will shape our global environment in ways that we cannot yet foresee. While many places and people in the world today enjoy more wealth, better health, and greater opportunity than ever before, novel skills and knowledge is needed to meet emerging challenges that pose a danger to the systems that underpin our prosperity. In a globalized world, balancing a desire for growth with the need to protect our future will require a truly global perspective. The College of Law, Commerce, and Public Affairs at Incheon National University, South Korea, is pleased to invite applications for a 4-week International Summer School in July of 2018 focusing on this theme. Organized as part of the College’s Global Excellence Program and hosted at the University’s Songdo campus, participating students may select from a range of courses exploring the emerging challenges and opportunities in the global environment. 48 hours of in-class instruction will be supplemented by elective activities designed to provide greater insight into course-related issues as well as make students’ time in South Korea a truly memorable experience. Members of INU’s sister universities will be able to count the courses towards their degree at their home institution. Lecture Tracks 4 lecture tracks are available to students: Understanding Globalization Economics of Sustainable Development and International Environment Regulations MICE and Hospitality for Global Management Global Entrepreneurship: Case Studies Program and Course Details Program date: July 2nd to the 27th, 2018 Classes will be held for 3 hours per day, Monday through Thursday, for a total of 48 class hours. Credit for the courses are recognized by Incheon National University’s partner universities. Extracurricular Activities Students will have the opportunity to take part in several extracurricular events to enrich their experience in Korea. Activities for this year have yet to be finalized, but in 2017 students participated in the following: Tour of Seoul, South Korea’s capital city Visit to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on the border of North Korea Attend the Boryeong Mud Festival Additionally, on the final Friday of the program, students will be invited to attend a fully catered closing ceremony.

Tuition and Accommodation Fees Tuition and accommodation fees for international students will be paid for by the Global Excellence Program, and therefore enrolment and accommodation will be free of charge for students. INU will also cover the costs for the extracurricular activities. Students, in turn, are responsible for their travel expenses (airfare, etc.) to and from South Korea.

Eligibility Undergraduate students from all disciplines are welcome to apply to the program. The course that you attend will be credited as an elective by your home institution.

Accommodations Students will be lodged, free of charge, in Incheon National University dormitory for the duration of the program. The dormitory is a short walk from all on-campus classrooms and a short bus ride from the downtown core of Songdo, where many restaurants and nightlife establishments are located.
