Mauritius is a developed topical island off the southeast coast of the African continent in the southwest Indian Ocean with a population of almost 1,300,000. The island is one of the most politically stable and rapidly growing nations in Africa. The nation maintains 5 percent GDP growth per year, a per capita GDP of $7,989, and possesses a national GDP of more than $19 billion, one of the largest in sub-Saharan Africa.
