DESCRIPTION
Chatham County officials called for an investigation into the disbursement of payments by Dr. James C. Metts Jr., prior to his sudden resignation as county coroner on Dec. 14. In June, County Manager Russ Abolt directed Roy Hinely, interim director of the internal audit department, to investigate and report on budget payments for secretary reimbursement, according to documents obtained through an open records request.
