Our typical residential customer bill continues to be about 25 percent lower than the national average – and lower than it was just a few years ago

Typical 1,000 kWh residential bills as reported in the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Typical Bills and Average Rates Report for Winter 2013 based on utility rates effective January 2013. Averages only include utilities that report their rates to EEI and may not be all-inclusive. Florida IOU Average – EEI data for Florida includes the following investor-owned utilities: Florida Power & Light Company, Gulf Power Company, Duke Energy Florida and Tampa Electric Company. Typical FPL customer savings is based on a 12-month average. More than half of FPL’s residential customers use less than 1,000 kWh per month on average.

We’re installing solar panels with real-time energy monitoring on about 100 schools across our service area

Nine Broward County public schools have or will receive solar panel systems through this program

Solar Demonstration Sites

We’re also installing solar panels with real-time energy monitoring and educational exhibits in science museums and other educational facilities

The Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale received a 25 kilowatt PV system and educational exhibit – about 200,000 people a year

will walk into the museum under the solar panels
