▪▪ Promote brand awareness and showcase your company’s offerings in the therapy area▪▪ Demonstrate your commitment and investment in the treatment of opioid dependence and its

comorbidities▪▪ Engage with healthcare professionals during the conference through face-to-face contact, company

There are also opportunities to support the educational programme as grantors. Grants are provided at arm’s length and are used to run workshops in specific areas, typically including clinical practice improvement projects, 12-month follow ups to assess evolutions in clinical practice amongst delegates and the subsequent publication of outcomes. If you are interested in becoming a grantor and being associated with one of these high profile CME activities, please contact [email protected] for more details. Due to the involved nature of the practice change programmes, grants start from around £30,000.

Please note that as we will be applying for CME accreditation, any promotion of your brand(s) will be restricted to locations outside of the main meeting room(s). Companies sponsoring equipment used in the meeting room will have the added benefit of their name being associated with the relevant equipment, e.g. voting handsets.

Request for grantors

An investment to measurably change practice

The conference’s unique methodology in supporting and demonstrating clinical practice enhancement means that providing an arms’ length grant to IOTOD is a clear demonstration of your company’s commitment to enhancing standards of patient care. Grant supporters of this highly reputable program as well as its annual follow up research and publications may expect to reinforce the perception of their own organisation as both ethical and credible.

A flagship live event in addictions therapy, ‘Improving Outcomes in the Treatment of Opioid Dependence’ (IOTOD) has become a key conference in the addictions world owing to its novel approach to creating impactful learning experiences. The latest scientific evidence is applied to clinical practice, with the ultimate aim of improving patient outcomes. An annual event of 13 years, IOTOD addresses a multitude of practice deficits by working with renowned international experts, and using cutting-edge technology and creative techniques, to connect education directly with the clinical practice of delegates. In doing so, we have been able to capture data and meaningfully tackle critical issues in the therapy area. Year after year, IOTOD offers an exciting interactive educational opportunity for delegates and promises to provide them with the tools to address the needs of their more complex and challenging patients. The live event is practically focused and highly interactive, condensing a wealth of international experience and insight into a stimulating 3 days of active learning whereby attendees are invited to contribute to devising ways of applying the evidence base to their own practice.

As the focal point of this year’s conference, we will be running a ‘commitment to change’ and ‘resource quest’ programme, focusing on ways in which our attendees plan to change their practice in order to better tackle the public health challenges laid out by our faculty. We will also be looking at treatment setting and system issues and asking delegates to plan to enhance quality by influencing these structures. A year-long follow-up study will provide solid data for future publication on the clinical practice improvement outcomes of the project. We expect, in particular, to see commitments and measure changes in the following areas:

▪▪ Implementation of consultation liaison models between addiction and pain clinics▪▪ Detection and management of opioid analgesic dependence (OAD)▪▪ Implementation of hepatitis C virus (HCV) management within opioid clinics▪▪ Upscaling of overdose prevention through increased prison liaison▪▪ Expansion of overdose prevention among a wider group of vulnerable patients ▪▪ Increase in the number of patients receiving brief advice on smoking cessation and treatment▪▪ Increased use of AUDIT to measure alcohol intake▪▪ Increased screening for and management of ADHD in addiction clinics.

To achieve these outcomes, we are looking for grant support for workshops and for the follow-up study and publications. Please contact PCM Scientific for full details about the programme extensions in these areas that we are currently seeking funding for.

IOTOD is run at arm’s length from the financial supporters and all content is created by the faculty; PCM Scientific is the medical education company acting as Scientific Secretariat and Conference Organiser.

Financial support of £1,015,000 is required to support all educational activities described below. Depending on the

Publication of conference outcomes

The outcomes report (delivered 14 months after the live event) will include a profile of the clinicians who attended, their reported change in behaviour and improvements indicated based on analysis of the outcomes of all assessment results. The aim will be to publish these outcomes in a reputable journal within the addictions field to provide evidence of the power of the educational design of the IOTOD conference in improving outcomes.

CME-accredited interactive webcast

In order to ensure the educational content continues to provide a positive educational impact, after the live event we will provide CME-accredited interactive eLearning content from all workshops and plenaries. By supporting eLearning, you will be ensuring that the meeting content and follow-up clinical practice programme reaches a much wider audience. Therefore, your company’s support of the meeting will be accordingly communicated to a much wider audience. This online learning will be available for 12 months after the conference, allowing the educational messages from the conference to be circulated to tens of thousands of European healthcare professionals through a series of e blasts. Each webcast that you support will bear a clear acknowledgement of your company’s funding, helping to further raise your profile.

A slideshow and audio recording of all presentations, educational sessions and workshops will be re-developed into an engaging and interactive module. Pre and post assessments will be incorporated to ensure measured outcomes are captured.

▪▪ On signing up: a brief assessment of the baseline level of learner knowledge, confidence, attitude and current practice will be performed.

▪▪ During: learners will respond to case-related questions, allowing the capture of their current competence level.

▪▪ At the end: learners will complete a post-assessment and evaluation, and a pledge to the commitment to the same specific practice changes as the live event.

▪▪ At 3 and 12 months post-completion: learners will be asked to repeat the baseline practice survey, as well as report on their confidence and attitude.
