Introduction
The IP3™ logo is the keystone of the IP3 brand identity. The logo is one of the
most important intellectual property pieces IP3 owns and must be protected
through proper use. These following pages provide the building blocks for
supporting IP3’s identity system. They are designed to help you apply the IP3
identity correctly and consistently across all media. We ask that you help us by
properly using and crediting IP3 marks in accordance with these guidelines.
This style guide houses all relevant standards, requirements, and
recommendations surrounding the IP3 brand. It covers the visual presentation
and all implementation aspects, specifications, attributes and elements,
summed up and necessary to present the brand consistently throughout all
media.
Use the standard brand elements whenever you are developing or producing
materials such as:
• Publicity, information and campaigning pamphlets and flyers
• Posters
• Newsletters
• Websites
• Publicity banners for website and off-line use
• Reports and other key organizational documents
The style guide is a living document and will be updated when changes such as
re-branding, adding new sections to the corporate web site, using media
channels that have never been used before, take place. Ensure that you are
using the most recent version of the style guide.
Only artwork supplied by IP3 should be used. Various formats and sizes of the
IP3 logos can be found at www.ipthree.org

Corporate Description
Established in 2006, the International Professional Practice Partnership (IP3)
is a global initiative that was adopted by the 90+ IFIP Member Societies at the
IFIP General Assembly (GA). It consists of the leading professional IT
associations across the globe that share a common vision to establish IT as a
profession that is recognized and valued globally and has the same key
strategic features that are common to most established professions.
IP3 Vision
“A global partnership that will define international standards of professionalism
in IT, create an infrastructure that will encourage and support the development
of both IT practitioners and employer organizations, and give recognition to
those who meet and maintain the required standards for knowledge,
experience, competence and integrity.”

Proper Use of Trademark Usage
IP3 has invested in protecting our main brands through trademarks. Failure to
use the marks regularly or incorrectly (always used as nouns, for instance), may
result in IP3’s inability to protect the mark. If we are challenged we will need to
provide evidence that we have been using the mark correctly in public for some
period of time.
The trade marking process was started in Australia, Canada, the United States
and the European Community in 2009. Until the trademarks are officially
registered, the ™ symbol should be used. When the trademark has been
registered, the ® symbol should be used. The status of the trade marking process
is available via the IP3 “News Room” website.
Trademarks should be properly applied and attributed to protect the IP3
intellectual property. Trademarks should be used with the appropriate symbol
in first or most prominent usage in a document. For longer documents, ™
symbols should be sprinkled throughout. A rule of thumb is to use the symbol
once every 3-5 pages.

Product Descriptions
IP3P
The IP3P™ is the first IP3 professional standard. The IP3P is not a professional
certification or designation – it denotes the professional standard that is used in
the IP3 accreditation scheme to measure an organization’s professional
standard. More information on the standard can be found on the IP3 website
(www.ipthree.org). The IP3P is awarded by IP3 to IP3 accredited national
member bodies – not directly to individuals. Individuals belonging to the
accredited national organization are recognized by IP3 under the IP3P global
recognition umbrella.
IP3T
The IP3T™ is the second IP3 professional standard.

IP3 Logo Guidelines
IP3 Logo
Overal l Brand Mark
The IP3 overall corporate brand mark is the IP3 logo. It can be used with or
without the full name or tagline appearing next to and under the main logo.
Standard Tagline
When using the tagline, the standard line: “Transforming IT Professional
Practice” should be used in combination with the full IP3 name.
The tagline is always the four words with initial capitals on each word. The
tagline should not be used in all capitals. To ensure that IP3 owns the tagline, it
should always be used in conjunction with the IP3 logo. Using the tagline
without the IP3 logo is not acceptable.
Size
Minimum size
To ensure legibility, the logo with the tag line and full IP3 name should not be
smaller than 2.36 cm high and 3.2 cm wide. This means that the full name
should be no smaller than 8 pt.
Maximum size
The ratio aspect of the logo must be retained when it is reduced or enlarged.
• In electronic applications, the logo should be at least 150 pixels wide.
• In all applications, the logo should be the same size as, or larger than, the
logos of other companies appearing on the same page.

• The logo must not be resized disproportionately. If the logo is resized
vertically, it must be resized horizontally by the same percentage of the
original logo size.
• The logo should not be rotated, reversed or inverted.
• The logo must not be modified to remove or move the icon portion.
Colour Versions
A consistent image is vital to building brand identity. The following colors are
the IP3 colours of choice for the presentation of our logo.
Two Colour Logo
The official colours of the IP3 logo are as follows:
CMYK RGB
Green c85 m10 y100 k10 r0 g148 b69
Blue c100 m70 y5 k0 r0 g89 b162
No other colour should be substituted for these colours in the logo.
One-Colour Logos
Where it is not possible to represent the logo in the official colours, it may
appear in one 100% black. The logo should never appear as a tint.
Fonts Printing on a Dark Background
The logo may be reversed by printing in white on a dark-coloured background.
In this case, the logo should be all white (0% black). When selecting which color
to use on a dark background, the white logo should be used if the luminosity of
the background color is less than 70 in LAB color mode, or a brightness of less
than 70 in the HSB color mode.

Spacing
Proper spacing should be allowed between the logo and other page elements.
The logo must be surrounded by white space using the following guidelines:
No other element should be placed above, below, or on either side of the logo
within a distance equal to the 50% of the logo’s height.
Online Usage
When the logo is used on web sites, the logo must link to the IP3 home page
(www.ipthree.org), or a page on the IP3 website appropriate to the usage of the
logo.
Logo Usage Don’ts
Whenever the logo appears it should always be clear and visible. Care should be
taken in controlling the background on which the logo is presented in order to
optimize legibility. In no event should a line of text or any other visual element
overlay the logo.

IP3 Accreditation Marks
Overal l Brand Mark
IP3P and IP3T are accreditation mark names and associated logos that denote
the “Professional” and “Technologist” level standards used in the IP3
accreditation scheme. They are not professional designations bestowed by IP3
on individual practitioners via IP3.
Appropriate name use should be IP3P (or IP3T) and not the full IP3 Professional
or IP3 Technologist names. The following logos have been approved for usage.
The idea behind these logos is to show that and IP3 Member Society’s
professional certification has been IP3 accredited to the specific standard. It is
indicative of a “seal of approval” on the society that awards the professional
qualification.
Accredited societies who are in good standing are given a limited license to use
the marks in connection with their accredited professional certification
standard. The accredited society may use these logos in connection with the
accredited professional certification standard. The accredited society must
avoid any implication that professional certifications offered are accredited
under IP3 standards against which they have not been evaluated. The following
suggested line should accompany the use of the logo on the organization’s
website: “The XXX designation has been accredited by IP3 (www.ipthree.org)
against the IP3P (or IP3T) professional standard”.
Individuals who have been certified by an accredited society may use the
appropriate mark on business correspondence along with the IP3 accredited
certification they have been awarded by their society. It must be emphasized
that it is not a designation in and of itself, but rather indicates that the society’s

designation is IP3P accredited. Following is an example of logo usage with the
local professional designation (the CIPS ITCP).
Use of IP3P and IP3T Acronym
When used by qualified certified IT practitioners, the IP3P or IP3T acronyms use
should always directly follow the IP3 certified standard’s name. For example, Joe
Smith, ITCP/IP3P. This usage demonstrates the linkage between the certification
and the IP3 applicable standard.
Size
Minimum size
The minimum size for the appropriate logo is normally 2cm high and 2 cm wide,
but may be reduced to 8 mm by 8 mm on personal business cards only.
The IP3P and IP3T logos can also be used by qualified practitioners on their
business correspondence. The logo should always appear with the IP3
accredited certification granted to the practitioner. The IP3P and IP3T logos
provide an indication as to what standard the certification has been assessed
against. Following is an example of the IP3P logo use in combination with the
accredited certification logo.
