iPad Connecting to the University of Newcastle Wireless Network
This information may be useful for personally owned iPads or other Apple devices running iOS software (eg. iPod Touch, iPhone) but is provided as a guide only. Students and staff are responsible for the backup of data on their personal devices. IT Services DOES NOT provide support for personal devices and takes no responsibility for data loss.

To successfully connect, you MUST have at least version 2.0 of the iPad Software installed on your device.
CONFIGURATION 1. Click on the ‘Settings’ application on the Home screen, then click on the ‘Wi-Fi’
option.
2. Under the ‘Choose a Network …’ area, click on the ‘newcastle.edu.au’ network.
3. Enter your UNI-ID and password and click on ‘Join’. Once successfully authenticated, you will see a tick against the network.

4. Click on the blue/white circle icon to the right of the newcastle.edu.au network.
5. Scroll down to the ‘HTTP Proxy’ section. 6. Click on the ‘Auto’ button and in the URL field enter
http://proxy.newcastle.edu.au/proxy.pac, and click on ‘return’.
7. Press on the Home button on your iPad.
