Ipče Ahmedovski

Ipče Ahmedovski (Macedonian and Serbian Cyrillic:Ипче Ахмедовски; 6 January 1966 - 30 July 1994) alsoknown asMali Rambo and Bogotac, was a famous andvery popular Serbian-Macedonian folk singer.A younger brother of the well renowned 1980s folk singerJašar Ahmedovski, young and talented Ipče was fre-quently singing in his father’s kafana before he eventu-ally moved to Belgrade (Serbia) in order to launch hisprofessional singing career. He recorded his first albumBila si devojčica godina mojih in 1986 with famous com-poser Rade Vučković and Tomica Miljić orchestra. Laterhe recorded several albums with another Serbian and thebiggest hit composer Novica Urošević and in the earlynineties achieved great fame and popularity in Serbia, es-pecially with younger generations.Ipče died in a car accident in 1994 on Ibarska magistralanear Šopići, crashing his speeding Mercedes into a truck.His death sparked great grief in Serbia and a tragic endto one of greatest vocals known for his powerful vocalsover a four-octave range in a period when folk musicsingers popular in the 1970s and 1980s were quickly los-ing ground to the emerging turbo folk singers.
