Locating the Download on the Web Downloading

Go to http://www.apple.com

Click on Support at the top of the page

Click on Download iTunes

If you want to receive news and update information from Update, type in your e-mail address, otherwise just click Download Now

Click Save when prompted by the download

Save the program to the desktop

Close the Internet when download is complete

Installing

1. Double-click on the iTunesSetup icon on the desktop

2. Click Run, if prompted

3. Click Next, when the wizard that appears

4. Choose the “I accept the terms in the license agreement” option

5. Uncheck “Add iTunes and QuickTime shortcuts to my desktop” and “Use iTunes of the default player for audio files” if you do not want these options

6. Click Install

7. When the installer is done, click Finish

8. If prompted, restart the computer

Creating a Free Account Accessing iTunes Accessing the iTunes Store

From School, iTunes can be accessed through the Teacher Toolbox by selecting Audio Programs and double clicking on the iTunes Shortcut

Start iTunes by double clicking the iTunes icon. If necessary, click on “iTunes Store”

Free Apps Click on “App Store” at the top Scroll down the page to the “Free Apps” Section and click on any of the Free Apps On the screen that appears, click the “Free App” button

On the account Sign In box, click “Create New Account”

Creating an iTunes Account without a Payment Source

1. After following the steps for Free Apps, click Continue on the screen that appears.

2. Check the “I have read and agree to the iTunes terms and Conditions” checkbox and click continue.

3. Type in the necessary information for the iTunes account (note: you will need to use a valid e-mail address for account validation), then click continue.

4. On the “Provide a Payment Method”, click None

5. Fill in the Address information and click continue

6. If prompted for “Address Verification”. Complete The page and click Done.

7. Click Done on the “Verify Your Account” Screen

8. After 5-10 minutes, you should receive an e-mail with an account verification link (may take up to an hour)

9. Click on the link or copy and paste it into an internet browser

10. Click Allow, if prompted by the dialog box

11. The iTunes program should open

12. Click Done on the Congratulations screen

13. Your new, free iTunes account is now ready for use

Insert Music CD

This message will appear Select YES

iTunes will then import all the music from your CD into your iTunes library

Open iTunes

Click File Add File to Library

Browse to and select the video

Click OPEN

The file will be added to your iTunes library

Adding Free Educational Apps Purchasing Content Resources Open iTunes

Click on iTunes Store if necessary

Click the arrow next to “App Store” and select EDUCATION

In the right hand side, you will see the top Free Educational Apps.

After finding the App you are looking for, Click Free to download the App.

If prompted, enter your account information. Once entered, click Get and the App will be added to your iTunes library.

Open iTunes

If necessary, click on iTunes Store

Select the appropriate category

You can use the search box at the top of the screen to search for specific songs, movies, podcasts, or APPS, or search by the categories iTunes has listed. After finding the content you are looking for, click BUY

If prompted, enter in your account information.

Once entered, click BUY

The content will be added to your iTunes library in the appropriate category.

Files you may already have available that can be converted and put into iTunes:

• Music from Discovery Education

• Videos from Discovery Education

• PowerPoint Presentations • Classroom Videos

• Audio Books-you must have a license for each iPod you put an audio book on.

• Music from CD-you must

have a license for each iPod you put music on.

Library Devices

Manually manage music and videos Library Connect the iPod to your computer using the USB port. When iTunes opens, select the following options:

**Please NOTE: If sharing iPods between several computers and/or teachers, it is imperative to manually manage your iPod to reduce the risk of losing content on the iPod.

The iTunes Library shows content stored in iTunes for each category. Click on a category in the library to see files stored in iTunes.

Devices show all iPods connected to the computer, as well as music CDs in the computer. Click on a category under the iPod’s name to see files stored on the iPod.

Adding Content to Your iPod

Select the files from your iTunes library and drag them onto your iPod. The iPod will sync itself and let you know when it is okay to disconnect.

Ejecting the iPod

When manually managing your iPod it is important to eject the iPod for disconnecting it from the computer. To disconnect the iPod, click the EJECT button next to your iPod listed under DEVICES. The iPod will eject itself and let you know when it is OK to disconnect.

Exporting as .mp3 How to Record Audio Audacity saves raw audio files as an .aup file type to allow for further editing. When you are done with your audio file as a .wav file or an .mp3 file. To export as an .mp3 file you will need to download a lame_enc.dll file to support the exportation. The file may be downloaded from:

http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/

Step 1: Click File > Export as MP3… Step 2: Warning will reference saving all tracks down to one layer. Click “Ok” Step 3: Choose a file location to save the .mp3 Step 4: The first time you export out as an .mp3, a pop up will express a need to use the lame_enc.dll file, that you will have downloaded previously.

Click “Yes” and direct to where you have the lame_enc.dll file saved. Step 5: Fill out .mp3 information menu. *This step is not required. Step 6: Save Audacity project file for possible future edits

*To begin recording after pressing stop

Step 5: Press the “Selection Tool” and click at the end of where you stopped and/or want to begin the next recording
