• Sew ears to each side of the hat with whip stitch using MC

• Using PC stitch 3 freckles on each cheek with French Knot as follows:

Bring the needle from WS to RS of the hat;

Twist yarn around the needle 5 times

Pull needle through the wraps and then downthrough the stitch where it was brought up

Secure knot on WS

• Prepare bunches of yarn for hair: holding LC and CC tog for each bundle wrap them twice around 9" (23cm) piece of cardboard and then cut bundle one side.

• Put your hat on to hat form when making hair

• Hair Bang:Using crochet hook knot bunches through the stitches on front side of the hat (as marked on the picture below)

Insert the hook between stitches on the top of the hat; fold the strands in half and using crochet hook pull them creating a loop, then pull ends through the loop to create a firm knot.

Trim the ends to desired length

• Back Hair:Do not knot bunches as you did for the bang, but pull them through the stitches and fold the strands in half

Using crochet hook pull strands through each stitch around D-E-F edge, then work from G to D; then from G to F and then from E to G (Remember, do not knot! Only pull them and fold on the middle)

Tie 2 tails using yarn or hair elastics.

Start with YC and hook 3.5 mm (E)

To begin: Ch 3, join with a sl st to first chainto form ring.

Rnd 1: ch 1; work 10 sc into ring; join with sl stto beg ch = 10 sc sts

Join WC, Break YC and cont work next rnd:

Rnd 2: [ch 3; 2 trc in next st; ch 3; sl st in next st] 5 times = 5 petals Fasten off leaving long tail for sewing; sew flowers on the top of ea tail.

Trim tails to desired length
