Irish Impact SE Conference 2015 Speakers Tommy Flaim is senior Finance major & Education, Schooling, & Society minor at Notre Dame. The past three summers, he has interned at Ayco, a Goldman Sachs Company, Lutetium Capital (a credit hedge fund), and Citigroup. Tommy will be going back to Citigroup for a full time position as an investment banking analyst in their Technology, Media & Telecom (TMT) group. On campus, he is co-president for Unleashed, an impact investing club, and serves on the board of JIFFI, a non-profit microlending institution that aims to replace predatory payday lending in South Bend. Tommy also took part in the McCloskey Business Plan Competition with Reading for Life, a mentoring program for juvenile delinquents. He served as the team’s expert on social impact bonds, exploring how the social enterprise could utilize this new and innovative financial tool to expand their successful model. Christopher Flint is the Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Infiniteach. Christopher has spent the last 20 years working exclusively with students on the autism spectrum, as well as training their educators and parents. Today, Christopher develops innovative products for Infiniteach that help individuals across the entire autism spectrum build meaningful futures. Christopher’s transition from a special educator to entrepreneur has provided the opportunity to use his worldwide experience to continuously develop strategies, which empower the autism community. Sarah Forcino serves as Investment Officer for Catholic Relief Services’ Impact Investing team. In this role, she is primarily responsible for evaluating potential investment opportunities. Sarah has spent the majority of her career in investment banking, with seven years of experience at Sagent Advisors in New York City. While at Sagent, she executed sell- side M&A, buy-side M&A and capital raising transactions for middle-market clients across a wide range of industries. Most recently, Sarah worked as a consultant with TechnoServe in Botswana, focusing on access to finance for citizen-owned small and medium enterprises. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, with degrees in Finance and Hispanic Studies.

JP Gibbons is a Senior Investment Officer for the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Development Credit Authority where he serves on the Strategic Transactions Group. JP is involved in the origination and structuring of unique capital market solutions to tackle development problems. He works to unlock needed financing through the utilization of credit guarantees and other innovative products, primarily in the environment and conservation sectors. Prior to joining USAID in 2009, JP worked as a small business advisor with the Peace Corps in Guatemala. In this capacity, he helped environmental organizations achieve self-

sufficiency through improved business practices. JP began his career as a consultant with Cowhey Girard Consulting, a boutique financial firm focused on business valuation and transaction advisory services. He was selected as a 2015 Kinship Conservation Fellow. JP received his bachelor’s degree in finance and business economics from the University of Notre Dame and earned an MBA in Sustainability from Duquesne University.

Alex Goodman is the Founder and Partner at Beast Enterprises, who partner with and consult for early stage ventures, and help to bridge the gap between startups and investors. He is also a Co Founder for Tipjar, Columbia Angels, and 118 Capital. Alex previously worked as a Renewable Energy Policy and Project Development Analyst with GP Renewables & Trading in New York City. A Shell Future Energy Fellow, Alex holds an MPA in Economics and Energy from Columbia University and a BA in Economics from Bucknell University. He has five years of corporate finance and financial management consulting experience in the US and Latin America.

George Hanley is a veteran trader and philanthropist best known for founding Hanley Group (acquired by INTL FC Stone) and the George and Amanda Hanley Foundation. During his more than 30 years of success in the trading business, Hanley established himself as a leader in his field and a mentor who helped scores of students and young professionals learn the trading business. George has been a visionary member of the Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Mercantile exchange (now CME Group). His work continues today at his latest venture, Level 5 Trading Group. He has lectured at the University of Dayton, the University of Illinois and NYU. The foundation seeks to

build a better future by supporting global and regional initiatives in education, economic empowerment and environmental sustainability.

Kevin Jones is a serial entrepreneur in media and technology and events businesses. Successful seven out of eight times in startups and turnarounds, he has been effective in building information businesses in emerging technology or finance markets, from aquaculture to b2b Internet marketplaces to social enterprise. Three of Kevin’s startups became immensely profitable and resulted in the launch of multimillion-dollar businesses with less than $10,000 in startup capital apiece. He created Social Capital Markets, a network of investors, entrepreneurs, and social impact leaders who strive to meet at

the intersection of money and meaning. They’ve created the largest conference for impact investors and social entrepreneurs, drawing more than 10,000 people. Kevin also invested in Better World Books, a successful business started by four Notre Dame graduates, which has grown from $16 million in revenues to more than $70 million. He has been a columnist in the print edition of Forbes and started as a country weekly newspaper editor in the poorest county of Mississippi. While there, his reporting sent the sheriff to prison on 53 counts of fraud. Kevin led a highly educational malaria project in Swaziland and Mozambique for two years. He is married with two children and two grandsons and lives on a farm on a river near Asheville, NC.

Stephen Keppel is a Vice President of Empowerment Initiatives at Univision overseeing the expansion and development of the News Division's social impact content. While at Univision Stephen has launched a series of multimedia campaigns in the areas of personal finance, entrepreneurship, health and the environment. Stephen is a World Economic Forum Media Leader and served on the WEF's Global Agenda Council on Migration. Stephen created the Economic Growth Initiative for Haiti (EGI) in 2005 to provide training, mentoring and financing to young Haitian entrepreneurs in Port-au-Prince (www.egi-haiti.org).
