    Apply or a Loan ModifcationIn a mortgage loan modifcation, you and your

    servicer agree to permanently change one or moreo the mortgages terms to make the payments moremanageable or you. The changes could include

    The Making Home Aordable Program is parto the U.S. governments plan to help amilies set anaordable mortgage payment. The program low-

    ers borrowers housing-related expenses (principal,interest, taxes, insurance, and assessments or PITIA*) to31% o gross monthly income (beore tax deductions).

    The program also will pay you up to $1,000 per year onyour principal or 5 years i you make your paymentson time. To qualiy, you must meet certain eligibility

    criteria, including:

    1.The home is your primary residence.

    2. Amount owed on frst mortgage or a single amilyhome is $729,750 or less.

    3. Mortgage dated beore January 1, 2009.4. First mortgage payment* is over 31% o gross

    monthly income.

    5. You are having fnancial diculty making yourcurrent monthly payment.

    Respond to Requests or InormationYou will need to provide your servicer with key docu-

    ments under the program beore a modifcation can

    be granted. Avoid missing a deadline by respondingto requests or inormation and providing documents
