News, is reporting Johnny Depp is one more time

showing signs he is interested in purchasing

Wounded Knee.

“They have not given us a timeline. He is

interested is coming to visit the Pine Ridge. He is

working through the chairman of the Comanche

Nation of Oklahoma to arrange a meeting,”

commented Toni Red Cloud, public relations

coordinator for the Oglala Sioux Tribe, to the

Native News Online on Thursday.

Depp was adopted into the Comanche Nation of

Oklahoma two years ago.

Last summer Depp told the Daily Mail Online, a

London newspaper, that “he is planning to spend

millions of his own money to return land,

Wounded Knee, in South Dakota, to their

ownership.”

Last summer’s article continued:

“It’s very sacred ground and many atrocities were

committed against the Sioux there. And in the

1970s there was a stand-off between the Feds

(Federal government) and the people who should

own that land. This historical land is so important

to the Sioux culture and all I want to do is buy it

and give it back. Why doesn’t the government do

that?”

Is he really prepared to pay for the land?

‘I am doing my best to make that happen. It’s land

they were pushed on to and then they were

massacred there. It really saddens me.’

after all, they’re land that was stolen from them.

That land is not for sale it is Indian land so why do we

have to sell our land the government has taking enough

from us Indians so wounded knee should not be for sale

to any one
