“Shit! Where are my socks?” I grumbled to myself in a low gravelly voice as I dragged my legs out ofthe warm quilt and placed my feet on the floor searching for slippers with my eyes closed.

It was another chilly winter day. I am sure the temperature bar had hit a zero degree Celsius mark thatday.

“Aaah…the sky looks dull again,” I growled to myself in a lazy voice as I moved the curtains aside. Itwas pitch dark outside and I could still see the stars. The cold moonlight had still lit up the dark sky.

Getting up at 5:45 in the morning during winters would kill me!

Tired of my same old routine for months, I decided to get dressed up with the heaviest heart.

As I ate fried egg with a toasted slice of bran bread, in the death-like silence of winters, I heard the busapproaching from distance.

“Not agggainnn,” I whined to myself as once again I won’t be able to finish my breakfast before the busarrived. Once again I’ll go to work with a hungry, growling stomach. Once again I will drag start my day. Once again.

Leaving for work at 6:30 am each day would make me scream from inside. It had sucked life out of me.My work did not give me the luxury of time flexibility. I was made to follow the rut.

The noiselessness of the empty dark bus made my heart sink.

“Could you please turn on the lights,” I requested the bus driver in a disappearing grim voice as Istepped towards the seat where I sat each day.

As I slumped into the seat with my chest facing towards the spine of driver’s seat, I rested my bag rightnext to me. I slit opened my bag to take out some pieces of cosmetics as it was another of the manydays when I had not worn any make up at all.

Once again I was hating putting kajal in my eyes as I feared the tip of it hitting my eyeball as I movedbackwards and forward with the momentum of the bus.

That would be a typical day of my then dull, mundane and unexciting life. Working in a run-of-the-milljob had staled my soul. No flexibility, no freedom and lack of time abundance for my very own self hadmade me lifeless.

I Wanted Freedom!

Making a little money out of my mundane job that I did not evenenjoy anymore had frustrated me.
