Facts About Islam

Most important of the six articles of Islamic faith is the faith in the One Almighty God.

Allah (“God” in Arabic is the formal way of addressing God. Allah means god in Arabic.

The holiest site in Islam is Mecca (present day Saudi Arabia)

Islam does not advocate forced conversion; the term jihad (holy struggle) may represent an inner spiritual conflict.

According to Islam, Jesus Christ was a prophet of God and a man to be revered.

Muslims believe that after death each soul will be judged according to its deeds and will receive eternal paradise or Hell.

Islam does not advocate the subjugation of women; men and women are equal in the eyes of God

Muslims do not eat pork or drink alcohol Because of strict laws against idolatry,
