IslamophobiaConference and in!ites scholars" researchers" artists"
poets" mediaproducers" acti!ists and community organi#ations to
submit an abstract for amutli$medium engagement in the Islamophobia

(he conference)s theme" Islamophobia* +as a tipping point
been reached, isboth a -uestion for researchers and a statement
re.ecting the per!asi!enessof bigoted discourses that problemati#e
the category" /uslim and Islam inci!il society' Certainly" the
recent intensi&cation of Da)ish)s terrorist attacks
and the subse-uent media co!erage ha!e contributed to the rising
tide ofIslamophobia and the arri!al at this 0tipping point1
moment'
(he conference seeks papers that e2amine Islamophobia from
multi$disciplinary and transnational perspecti!es" so as to" bring
a more holisticunderstanding of the phenomena and the forces acting
to sharpen theongoing otheri#ation of /uslims as a class' 3hile
negati!e media discoursesfocusing on /uslims are important and ha!e
recei!ed scholarly attention"other areas of research remain
un$theori#ed 4ith fe4 -uality pieces incirculation' (he conference
encourages abstracts from a broad range ofacademic &elds and
speciali#ation and panels 4ill be organi#ed based on
academic &elds 4ith the hope of publishing clusters of
