14. AllexhibitorsmustbefamiliarwithKennelClubRegulationF(AnnexB)RegulationsforthePreparationofDogsforExhibition.
15. AlldogsresidentoutsideoftheUKmustbeissuedwithaKennelClubAuthoritytoCompetenumberbeforeentry to the show/event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returnedtotheexhibitor/competitor.
16. Dogs in Vehicles on Hot Days.AnyonewhosedogisenteredataKennelClublicensedeventshouldtakeallreasonablestepstoensuretheneedsoftheirdog(s)aremet,andshouldnotputadog’shealthandwelfareatriskbyanyaction,default,omissionorotherwise.BreachofKennelClubRegulationsinthisrespectmaybereferredtotheBoardfordisciplinaryactionunderKennelClubRulesandRegulations.
YourdogisvulnerableandatriskduringhotweatherandtheKennelCluboffersthefollowingguidancetohelpguideyouthroughthedo’sanddon’tstravellingtoandwhilstatKClicensedevents.
• Whentravellingtoashowpleasetakeamomenttoconsiderwhethertheroutetotheshowisonabusyholidayroute,andleaveearliertoavoidincreasedtimeintrafficjams.
• Ifyourvehicleisnotair-conditionedseriouslyconsiderwhethertravellingtotheshowisagoodideaatall. • The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water
available to drink. • Ensureyourdogisnotsittinginfullsunlight.Thereshouldbeplentyoffreeflowingairaroundthedog. • Whenattheshow,neverleaveyourdoginthevehicle. • Keepthedogintheshade-takeyourownshadeforexamplealargeumbrellaandalwayshaveplentyof
wateravailabletodrinksoyourdogstayswellhydrated.
• Avoidyourdogtakingpartinunnecessaryexertion,orfromstandinginexposedsunlightforextendedlengthsoftime.

17. AnyonewhosedogisenteredataKennelClublicensedeventshouldtakeallreasonablestepstoensuretheneedsoftheirdog(s)aremet,andshouldnotputadog’shealthandwelfareatriskbyanyaction,default,omissionorotherwise.BreachofKennelClubRegulationsinthisrespectmaybereferredtotheBoardfordisciplinaryactionundertheKennelClubRulesandRegulations.Theuseofpinchcollars,electronicshockcollars,orprongcollars,isnotpermittedatanyshowlicensedbytheKennelClub.Thisshallapplyatthevenue or within the precincts of the show.
18. NotforCompetitionentrieswillbeaccepted.DetailsofeachdogsoenteredmustberecordedontheentryformandmustbeKennelClubregistered.
19. NomodificationswillbemadetothisScheduleexceptbypermissionoftheBoardoftheKennelClub,whichwill be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible.
20. The Committee can accept no responsibility for products advertised or sold by standholders at the Show and wishtoremindexhibitorsthatgroomingproductsonsalemaynotmeettherequirementsoftheRegulationsforthePreparationofDogsforExhibition.
21. Anyowner,competitor,handlerorotherpersoninchargeofadogisrequiredtoremoveassoonaspossibleanyfoulingcausedbytheirdog(s)atanyKennelClublicensedshowwithinthelicensedvenueandwithintheenvironsofthateventincludingcarandcaravanparksandapproaches.
22. Theowner,exhibitor,handlerorotherpersoninchargeofadogatKennelClublicensedeventsmustatalltimesensurethatthedogiskeptunderpropercontrolwhilstatthelicensedvenue,includingitsenvirons,carandcaravanparksandapproaches.ThisRegulationappliesbefore(atanytimeduringthesetupperiodatthevenue),duringtheeventandafterwards(atanytimeduringthebreakdownoftheevent).
23. AdogmaybedisqualifiedbytheBoardfromanyaward,whetheranobjectionhasbeenlodgedornot,ifprovedamongstotherthingstohavebeen:a)registeredorrecordedashavingbeenbredbythescheduledJudge,thisshallnotapplytoaJudgeappointedinanemergency;b)exhibitedwithoutpaymentofappropriateentry fees.
24. Everyexhibitorshallensurethatwhilst thedogisbeingexhibited, itshandlershalldisplaythecorrectringnumber.
25.TheCommitteewillnotberesponsiblefortheloss,detentionofordamagetoanydog,personorproperty,whetherarisingfromaccident,oranyothercausewhatever,oranyactoromissionofitself,itsofficers,agents,servants,orothersorthedamagedonebytheexhibitortoanypersonorproperty.
26.ThecommitteewillnotbeinanywayresponsibleforanyclaimforinjuryorcompensationoccasionedbyorarisingoutoftheholdingoftheShow,orbyreasonoftheactordefaultofanypersoninattendanceorpresentthereat.EsleofElyCanineSocietydonotacceptanyloss,damage,ortheftofanydog,tables,boxes,cages,or personal effects at this Show.
27.ASafetyOfficerwillbeinattendancethroughouttheshow.ExhibitorsandspectatorsareremindedthatjustasIsleofElyCanineSocietyhasaresponsibilitytoensurethehealthandsafetyofallthoseattendingtheirevent,allthosepresenthaveadutyofcarefortheirownsafety.Theyarethereforeexpectedtotakethegreatestofcaretoavoidhazardswhichareinevitableandanintegralelementatadogshow.Thosebringingportableitemsofequipment,suchasfoldingchairs,trolleys,cagesandgroomingtablesalsohaveadutyofcaretothemselves,theirequipmentandtheirdogs.Exhibitorsarealsoremindedtheyshouldwearappropriatefootwearfortheprevailingconditionsonsite,exhibitorsshowattheirownriskifconditionsarenotideal.
28.TheSocietywillnottolerateanykindofabusivebehaviourtoitsOfficers,CommitteeorStaffonitsshowgroundorcarparks.AnyonefoundtobebehavinginthismannerwillbereportedtoSecurityandaskedtoleave,areportwillbesenttotheKennelClub.
DeFiNiTiONS OF ClaSSeSIn the followingdefinitions, aChallengeCertificate includes anyShowaward that counts towards the titleofChampionundertheRulesofanygoverningbodyrecognisedbytheKennelClub.WinsatChampionshipShowsinbreedclasseswhereChallengeCertificatesarenotonoffershallbecountedaswinsatOpenShows.InthecaseofadogownedinpartnershipandenteredinMembers’classesorcompetingforMembers’Specialseach partner must at the time of entry be a member of the Society.Inestimatingthenumberofawardswon,allwinsuptoandincludingtheseventhdaybeforethedateofclosingofpostalentriesshallbecountedwhenenteringforanyclassi.e.Wednesday, 2nd January 2019.
WinsinVarietyclassesdonotcountforentryinBreedclassesbutwhenenteringforVarietyclasses,winsinbothBreedandVarietyclassesmustbecounted.AfirstprizedoesnotincludeaSpecialPrizeofwhatevervalue.Ifanexhibitorreportsbeforethejudgingofaclassorclassesthatadoghasbeenenteredwhichisineligible,theexhibitormaychooseoneofthefollowingoptions: (1) Withdrawal ThedogmaybewithdrawnfromcompetitionsubjecttotheconditionsofRegulation20. Secretaryshalltransferittotheequivalentclassorclassesforthecorrectbreed,colour,sex,weightorheightand,intheeventoftherebeingnoequivalentclass,MinorPuppyandPuppyexceptedtotheOpenclassforthecorrectbreed,colour,sex,weightorheight.
b) IfanexhibitisenteredincorrectlyinaMinorPuppyclass,PuppyclassorJuniorclass,whichisoveragebutundertwelvecalendarmonthsofage,eighteencalendarmonthsofageortwentyfourcalendarmonthsofagerespectively,theShowSecretaryshalltransfertheexhibittothePuppyclass,JuniorclassorYearlingclassrespectivelyforthecorrectbreed,colour,sex,weightorheightandintheeventoftherebeingnoPuppy,JuniororYearlingclasstotheOpenclassforthecorrectbreed,colour,sex,weightorheight.
c) For any reason other than the above, the Show Secretary shall transfer it to the Open class for the correct breed,colour,sex,weightorheight.
d) Ifanexhibitarriveslateandmissesaclass,evenifitistheonlyclassinwhichthedogisentered,thedogmaynotbetransferredtoanyotherclass.

YKC MeMbeRS’ HaNDliNg Onlydogsofsix(6)calendarmonthsofageandoveronthedayofcompetitionareeligibleforentryintoanYKCqualifyingclass.Classesforhandlingaredecidedbythehandler’sage.Theclassesaredividedintothreeagegroups:6-11years(6yearsandupto,butnotincluding12thbirthday);12-17years(12yearsandupto,butnotincluding18thbirthday);18-24years(18yearsandupto,butnotincluding25thbirthday).Pleaseentertheclassagecategoryyouwillbeonthedayofthequalifier.Ifyoushouldmoveintothenextagerangeafteryouhavealreadyqualified,theYKCwillinviteyouintothecorrectagegroupatCrufts.ThemethodforCruftsqualificationisapointsbasedsystemasfollows:1stPlace=30points;2ndPlace=15points;3rdPlace=10points.Memberswillreceivepointspergroup(i.e.iftheyhandleaBloodhound,theywillgetpointstowardstheHoundgroup).Ifamembergets30pointsinanyonegroup,theywillqualifytoenteradogfromthatgroupatCrufts2019.Ifamembergains30ormorepointsinmultiplegroups,theymayonlycompetewithonedogatCrufts,buttheywillhavetheoptiontochoosefromanyofthegroupstheyhave30ormorepointsin.Allpointsareresetto0on1stJanuaryeachyear.InordertoenteranyYKCcompetition,youmustbeafullypaidupmemberatthetimeofentryandcompetition.IfyouenteraCruftsqualifierandyouhavenotpreviouslypaidyourmembershipfeethenanyawardwillbeforfeited.Beforecompeting,pleaseviewafulllistoftheYKCcompetitionrulesat:www.ykc.org.uk/andfollowthecompetetab.
