The bacteria in nature are kept in check by organisms in the food chain that eat them and may not be suited to the kind of wastes existing in the system. The population of the different species of microbes change constantly depending upon the environmental conditions,therefore beneficial microbes have to be added on a regular basis to ensure their presence in the system.
