What are some of the difficulties that Young Arab men in Israel encounter?
Those who decide to build a house on an unauthorized area will surely face this
despicable outcome too. This wreckage is for a house which was demolished recently in
my village. Needless to mention that the house was built on the owner’s own land; his
land was and still for agriculture use only. Since there is no place to build new houses in
the village limits, many people decide to build their houses illegally hoping that one day
the government will accept to expand the limits of the village and change their land type
from agriculture use to construction use. We can see that their hopes and dreams were
demolished too and berried under these remain s.
If the government finds out that your house was built illegally they will send you an
order to destroy it by yourself or they will come and destroy it for you.
As a young male who is about to build a house I ask, Where to go and how to
improvise?
Ahmad Igbariya – Musherfa village
This picture shows how people somehow succeed to improvise and build
houses legally. As you can see the houses are built randomly. Everyone
who gets a green light to build a house in his backyard or above the
parents house will start building at once. Some new houses are extremely
close to each other as shown in the middle of the picture and on the right
side you can see three houses built hierarchically above the parents
house.
Can you imagine how bothering and complicated this issue is? Again, as a
young man I need to build a house and get married. I want my child to
open his room window and see a tree in our garden not the neighbors
laundry hung on a rope.
Ahmad Igbariya – Musherfa village
This is a picture of my neighborhood , you can see that the
buildings are so crowded, compact, and contiguous.
Actually, there are no places or spaces to build new
buildings. Each male should build new floor above his
parent’s house. I think it’s a difficult problem or issue that
we all suffer, and I hope to find new solutions that lead us
to build houses easily. Rabea Yaseen – Tamra Village
This is my cousin’s house , he is called Adam. He is 28
years old. He doesn’t have the ability to buy a piece of land
and to build new home so, he decided to build another
floor above his parent’s home because he didn’t have
another choice. We can see the difficulties that each one of
us will face in the future in connection with building.
Rabea Yaseen – Tamra Village
It’s a wonderful picture for my charming Romanh .
we are 1000 person in a space of 500 meters * 1000
meters. We can see that there are an empty large
space but our perfect government don’t want to give
us the permeation to build.
Muhammad Abo Hosain – Romanh village
Imagine yourself with other three families in one small
building. You cant even breath easily. You always hear
your neighbors talking. You cant feel comfortable, and
we are still without a solution.
