VISION-
Our vision is to harness space technology for national development, while pursuing space science research and planetary exploration.
MISSSION-Research and development in space science and
planetary exploration.
Indian remote sensing satellite(IRS) programme for management of natural resources and monitoring of environment.
About ISRO
INDIAN space programme began in 21/12/1963
First launch was sounding rocket ‘nike-apache’ for the study of winds in upper atmosphere.
ARYABHATTA was the first
satellite build by ISRO.
THE BEGINNING
Bhaskar 1 for taking picture of earth surfaceBhaskar 2 with microwave radiometerIRS (INDIAN remote sensing satellite) programme.APPLE , first geostationary satelliteRohini, launched by SLV-3INSAT- 1B for tele-communication, tv.broadcasting
and with Data Relay TransponderKalpana 1, weather satellite launched by PSLVGSAT-3 or EDUSAT, dedicated to educational field
and tele-medicine
ISRO IN SATELLITE ERA
IRS-1, INDIA’s first operational remote sensing satellite
SROSS series to understand ‘gamma ray burst’ and ‘ionosphere’
Chandrayaan-1 to test the impact of a sub-satellite (Moon Impact Probe - MIP) on the surface on the Moon as a fore-runner to future soft-landing missions
Space Capsule Recovery Experiment (SRE-1)

LAUNCH VEHICLES:KEY TO SPACEFLIGHT
Satellite launch vehicles built by placing one rocket stage over other.
Used internal combustion enginePSLV- Indian remote sensing satellites in polar orbit
1st stage-solid rockets
2nd stage- liquid rockets
CE-20 is INDIA’s first cryogenic developed engine
It’s specific impulse is 440-460 seconds
APPLICATION-Upper stage booster
CRYOGENIC ENGINE (CE-20)
Developed by LIQUID PROPULSIONS SYSTEM CENTRE
Developed to power the future heavy lift Unified and Reusable launch vehicles (ULV & RLV)
It is under development processLOx /isrosene will be used as propellant
SEMI CRYOGRNIC ENGINE (SCE-200)
