Dear AIAENY Chapter Members

The programs committee at the AIAENY board is working hard to provide you with various opportunities to acquire valuable continuing education credits and to network with your fellow members On May 23 some of you had the opportunity to attend the first of two energy code classes at UAlbany It was focused on commercial projects and provided by the Urban Green Council The second offering occurred on Monday August 15 which geared more toward residential projects Thank you to all of our attendees

Over the summer we enjoyed two fantastic tours The first took place at the Renaissance Hotel which was followed by a networking Happy Hour that was graciously sponsored by BBL The second tour offered was of Liberty Terrace at University of Albany Both events provided CEs as well as a great opportunity to get together with colleagues

Our busy summer also included our Second Annual Summer Mixer at the Sports Grill in East Greenbush on July 28 Several attendees enjoyed looking at our Design Award Winner Boards great food amp drink and mingling with attendees from several different Professional Associations

We hope you enjoy our upcoming Emerging Professionals in Saratoga on September 28 We encourage those of you looking ahead toward licensure or newly licensed architects to join us to share your experiences over a beer or two and some food It is also a great way to kick off the New York State Design Awards that is being held on September 29-October 1

The VP-Programs Corner

As always if you have any suggestions for programs tours lunch and learns or would like to organize an event in your area please feel free to email me at josephmparadisgmailcom

We look forward to seeing you at upcoming events

With the best regardsJoseph M Paradis AIA LEED AP AIAENY VP-Programs 2016
