2020 APPLICATIONS Applications will open at 7am on Friday, October 18. FEES & INVOICES Invoices for care in week ending 28/7/19 were emailed out this week with payment due Friday, August 9. If you have any queries, email [email protected] with any queries. GREENHOUSE UPDATE The new greenhouse was installed this week and looks amazing. It it will allow us to propagate and grow plants all year round so the Eco Warriors are very excited. It still needs a few finishing touches, including a crushed rock floor and some benches, but we hope to have this work completed soon. PERFORMING ARTS UPDATE West Gippsland Eisteddfod We had a large number of OSHC students compete in the West Gippsland Eisteddfod in Warragul on Thursday and Friday. All students represented our school proudly and are congratulated on their wonderful performances. Winter Warmer Concert Good luck to those members of the grade 3, 4 and senior choirs, and schools bands who will be performing on Sunday at St Margarets in the annual Winter Warmer Concert. We look forward to hearing all about it. RED NOSE DAY - OSHC FUNDRAISER At OSHC, we will be helping to support the fight against Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) by holding a Red Day Nose Disco at aſter school care on Friday, 9 August. We ask parents to consider supporting this cause by donating a gold coin. We will have a donation jar at the sign in area throughout next week. Every gold coin helps. FATHERS DAY BREAKFAST—SAVE THE DATE Friday, August 30 from 7.30am. Details to come. STUDENT ENGAGEMENT Over the past weeks, we have been looking at ways to further engage all students when in care. Using feedback from carers, students and members of the junior council, we have been purchasing some new resources. With the arrival of a new bookcase this week, we are now able to make all of our new books available for the students. There are lots of titles to satisfy all interests so we hope the children enjoy them. Also arriving this week, was a new toy treehouse and a range of games that aim to sharpen the mind, educate but above all, are fun. These new resources have been placed in the Green room, away from the hustle and bustle of the other rooms. AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS Some great suggestions for some OSHC-based clubs have come from our junior council. These have included a homework club, art club, book club and chess club. This week we introduced chess in the aſternoons which has been very popular among students from all grades! We will add the other clubs to the program over the coming weeks. AEROSCHOOLS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS Congratulations to the following OSHC students who competed in the Aero schools state championships yesterday in Diamond Creek. All teams did extremely well and should be very proud of their commitment and effort throughout the year.
