Under 12 Team Semi Final - 5 Sept 15
We played Box Hill and drew 17-17. Eltham went through as we were higher on the ladder. A very nerve wracking and exciting game in which our boys played a very strong first half. The second half saw Box Hill come back very strongly to keep
Eltham scoreless in the second half. 2 tries scored by Lincoln Kamalabaskaran and one try by Rueben Rhodes. Macaulay Cox converted one try. Eltham U12's face Southern Districts next Saturday at Southern Districts for what should a very hard fought final. Roz

JC Report & Message from Under 12s Re: Finals
It was a great weekend of hard fought rugby from three of our Eltham teams on semi final weekend.
U12 (2) played Box Hill (3) in a ferociously contested game with each side trading try for try. Box Hill went out to a 7 point lead early in the first half and Eltham replied 5 minutes later and then went on to post another 2 backline tries through Lincoln and Reuben for a half time lead of 17-12. The encounter then got very tight with Box Hill pushing deep into Eltham territory and finally being rewarded with a try after having one disallowed. The kick was unsuccessful and the scored remained 17 all. The last 10 minutes were a titanic struggle with neither side getting close to the line and the scoreline reflected a tough game with 17-17 the final score. As Eltham finished 2nd, they progress to the Grand Final and play Southern Districts on Sat 12th at Southern Districts (Eel Race Rd, Seaford) at 9.50am
The other 2 semi's featured the U16 and U18 teams and were very high calibre matches as you would expect from Eltham sides.
Our U16 boys have shown their potential all year but just haven't done it consistently enough for the full 60mins. This time against Harlequins, they showed that they were a real
threat by keeping Quins scoreless in the first half and leading 5-0. Unfortunately, the second half had Quins finding the chalk and putting on 31 unanswered points. Coach Bully Shaw was full of praise for the efforts these boys have shown all year and especially in the Semi-final.
The U18 side has become very used to their opposition this year and have spent many hours in plotting the downfall of the Shepparton side in the semi-final, but alas, it was not to be on Saturday. The game was a high scoring affair with the final score 44-19 with a lot of attacking flair from the Eltham boys but unfortunately its hard to defend the line breaks with less than 15 players, so Shep will go through to meet Harlequins next Sat and Eltham will hope some of these U18 boys will go on to represent the club next year in the senior ranks.
REMINDERS:
ELTHAM U12 at Seaford THIS SATURDAY

David Taylor - JC
Congratulations to Etham U12s who have played their way into the Grand Final being hosted at Southern this coming Saturday. Fate would have it we meet Southern Districts in the final at their home ground but the boys are up for what should be a greatly contested game. The team would love it if as
many people from the Eltham club as possible could make the trip to Southern to get behind us to even things up.
Location: Southern Districts RC, Riviera Park, Eel Race Road, Seaford. Kick off 10.00am - Field 2

U16 Match Report from Semi Finals - 5 Sept
Under 16 Semi Final Eltham 5 v 31 Harlequins Endeavour Hills 5 September 2015 After a solid week of preparation it was time to travel to Endeavour Hills to face Harlequins in the Semi Final.
For the first time since round 1 we were able to field our strongest team plus a few reserves.
In the dressing room prior to the game you could sense the feeling of nerves and anticipation of what was ahead of us.
The forecast rain managed to clear prior to kick off so we were hoping for some dry weather rugby.
The game didn’t start the way we wanted with Quins putting the kick off deep into our 22 and after some sustained pressure they forced a knock on. From the scrum Quins crashed over to take a 0-5 lead.
The Eltham boys decided to show their character and the assembled crowd that they were not going to lay down and give up easily.
From the restart Eltham really began to build some pressure through the forwards and then spread the ball wide and attack through the back line.
With the ever growing penalty count in favour of Eltham our ploy to tap and run anything in the Quins half was starting to
pay dividends.
After several minutes of sustained pressure Lachy Farquharson crashed over out wide, unfortunately Daniel just missed the conversion but scores were level and the confidence in the boys was seen to grow.
The rest of the half was played between both 22’s with both sides trying to get the upper hand.
With half time approaching the tension in the crowd was starting to build as the travelling band of Eltham supporters were witnessing a team of boys that were
putting their bodies on line every phase.
As the half time whistle sounded it was time to regroup and catch our breath.
The second half commenced where the first half finished with both teams not giving an inch.
After a 10 minute arm wrestle Quins managed to cross near the posts and with a successful conversion they took a 5-12 lead.
As the boys have done all year they didn’t drop their heads and continued to play strong and hard.
Eltham continued to apply pressure trying to pin back the 7 point deficit.

U16 Dalai picked for Rebels U17 Sevens Team
Amongst those selected is Eltham U16 Dalai Maniti—well done Dalai everyone is proud of your success. Hearty Congratulations!
With ten minutes remaining Quins scored against the run of play to extend their lead. With the clock running down Quins managed to score two more late tries to finish with a 5-31 win and advanced to the grand final.
The final score was no indication of the game and Eltham were in the game until the last 10 minutes. The boys played with courage and heart and really made Quins work for their win.
Although we didn’t make the grand final I am so proud to have seen this
group of young men grow and mature during the year and not just on the rugby paddock.
During the season these boys have trained hard and improved with every week they have never dropped their heads, even when playing short sided. They should all be very proud of their efforts and their improvement.
