I have been puzzled for years aboutthe direction major beer brandsmarketing strategy has taken. Whotold them the average beer drinkercares about calorie counting?Maybe I am completely wrong.Maybe I just don’t know enoughpeople that care about calories intheir beer. The fact is, everyone that I ask doesnot care at all about how manycalories their favorite beer has. This is certianly supported by thesudden and significant boom incraft beer sales. Please let me know what youropinion is by votiing in our onlinepoll at SPMag.co.

Beer CraZy

by Contributing Writer,Nick Gaudio

This week’s beer is AllagashWhite. From Portland, Maine, this Belgian Witbier is one of thebest of its category for domesti-cally brewed beer. It pours acloudy yellow, due to the unfil-tered wheat, with a white, foamyhead. It has an extremely drink-able sweet citrus, clove, andcoriander flavor that goes downjust as smoothly as it hits thetongue. For those unaccustomedto unfiltered wheat beer, do notshy away from Allagash becauseof the cloudiness. On a warmday, one of these served with alemon wedge can be the mostrefreshing beverage choice
