Prof. Srinibas Pathi, Head, Department of Public Administration, Mizoram (Central) University, Aizawal under UGC Special Assistance Programme (SAP) was on a visit to Rajasthan ULB's from 18th to 23rd January for the 'Strategies for Capicity Building in Municipal Governence in Rajasthan'.

th thof the All India City Managers' Forum (CMF) and a National Workshop on Urban Shelter and Slum Re-development on 7 and 8 January, 2009. The workshop was attended by Mr. Anand Mohan. Project Director, Local Self Government, GoR and Dr. Sunil Kumar Pareek, Coordinator, CMAR.
This workshop addressed the question as to How the vision of 'Slum free Cities' can be translated into reality through Public-Private community partnership. Detailed discussions were held on existing State level policies related to urban shelters, affordable housing, land available for creation of shelter for the poor, alternative ways of providing affordable housing, cross-cultural comparisons with other countries, provision of livelihood opportunities for the poor, innovative ideas and models ensuring democratic mechanisms and orientation of social justice implemented in India for housing the urban poor, voices of the urban poor.
