Name :-Material Able to Store Enormous amount of holographicData

    Developed by: -University of Arizona

Working: -A team of researchers from the managed to create amaterial that in the near future could be used to store hugeamount of shifting holographic data.

The prototype system is able to record 3D data by filming anobject from different angles with the help of 16 cameras. Each

camera takes a picture of the object every second.

Afterwards a computer processes all 16 views into holographicpixel data and transmits a signal to 2 pulsed laser beams. Thelatter write the information into the recording material. Throughoutthis process the laser beams combine in order to create aninterference pattern of light and dark patches in the recordingmaterial. Then the laser beams fire another light at the patter, thus reconstructing the three-dimensional pictures,

Normal facts (year, type, range, test ) etc:-The scientist alsosaid that by creating a material able to store and display 3Dpictures with a 2sec refresh rate the team managed to obtain trueholographic quality.

Special facts:- Together with his team Peyghambarian built andcarried out trials of a 17-inch display with an ultra-swift refreshrate. The display is able to produce a high-quality picture, in

    combination

Field of coverage:- an optical researcher from the Universitymentioned that the substance could be used in medicine, manufacturing and entertainment fields

Name: - RoboPutt- Robotic Vending Machine that Give Golf Lessons

Working:-The robotic vending machine does all the motions forthe user, the latter only having to hold the golf club. ThusRoboPutt helps users build muscle memory so they can laterrepeat the swing during real games.

After the device is attached the user plays several 100 feetputts until they obtain the necessary swing (because DiGirepresents a self contained device the user can easily take it outonto the greens The device is afterwards removed and it wirelesslysends information on the stroke to the RoboPutt computer. Then

the user fixes their own putter to the vending machine and selectsa course that features 10 progressive lessons with various tips andadvices offered through a pair of headsets. The personal data, aswell as the information on the user's stroke and progress areintroduced on a magnetic card, which allows the user to practiceon any robotic vending machine, reports

    Name:-Low-Cost Invisible Computer Mouse

    Developed by:- MIT's Media Lab

Working: - An infrared laser beam and infraredtracking camera to develop a system that reads themovement of a user's hand and then translates it onto thedisplay in form of a cursor.

It is worth mentioning that the laser beam's plane is aimed slightlyabove the surface of the user area and after the user's hand takes

the form as if it is holding a computer mouse, the beam breaks at

the points where each finger comes into contact with the surface.

Afterwards the infrared tracking camera registers the movements

of the hand and interprets them accordingly. The camera can

identify such actions as clicking and double-clicking.

Field of coverage:- Currently the team is working onimproving the tracking and identification algorithms in theirlatest invention in order to obtain a large list of differentcommands, which could lead in the future to multi-touchgesturing

    Name:-Proverbial Wallet Manages Your Expenditure

    Developed by:MIT's Media Lab

Working and facts: Three types of Proverbial wallet. Onevariation of the wallet vibrates when the owner makes a

purchase using a RFID-enabled credit card. Another variationgrows or shrinks in size, depending on the amount of moneyin the user's bank account. The third type is getting harderto open when there account balance decreases.

InIn order to be able to perform the upper mentionedfunctions, the latest invention from MIT researchers has tobe connected to the user's bank account through a Bluetoothsignal from a cell phone or computer.

Normal facts :-There are three types of Proverbial wallet

Special facts:-The Proverbial wallet Although looks almostlike any other wallet, the team's latest invention features asmall device fitted in the middle.

Field of coverage:- Manages Your Expenditure

Name:- System that Turns Real Hand Movements intoVirtual

Developed by:-The latest invention ofRobert Wang,MIT grad student

Working:-Wang's system is able to translate all of thehand's motions into a 3D image, making it possible forusers to manipulate objects in the virtual world like theywould in real life.

Normal facts (year, type, range, test ) etc:- A systemthat requires a Webcam and a pair of rather weirdcolorful gloves to turn real hand motions into a 3D image

Special facts:-The main feature of the whole technologyis the Sixth Sense system developed at MIT byWang and his faculty advisor Jovan Popovict. It is worthmentioning that this system relies on colorful pieces of

tape that are attached to a person's fingertips.

Field of coverage:- This his latest invention could beused in video games. At the same time he believes thatthe system would be of great help to designers andengineers who need to operate different scale models in3D.
