renewable sources of
energy used at home
and in the town
It is true that we need energy in our everyday life…
It is also true that we use A LOT of energy in our everyday life…
because of this attitude the supplies of energy seem to decrease dramatically and Earth, our «home», suffers…
by selecting renewable sources of energy
not only we help the environment
but we also
save a lot of energy
and a lot of money…
according to where we live… to the environment… to the climate…to what is mostly available…we have a great variety of renewable sources of energy to choose from!!!
Photovoltaic panelsPhotovoltaic panels convert sun power to electric power.
Sun is an unexhausted power resource, which by photovoltaics can be utilized as electric power. The result is a big environmental gain because electric power is produced without the air pollution that other methods of electrical energy production cause.
Photovoltaic parks
Not only single homeowners , but also communities select the photovoltaic panels for the production of the electricity needed in the area.
Smaller or bigger photovoltaic parks can be found in towns , in villages, up in the mountains or near a sea… wherever sun shines!
Solar water heater
The solar water heaters use the sun power to heat water in the boilers found on the topof the heater or somewherein the house. The water can be kept hot in there for a long time.
As long as the day is sunny, in winter or in summer, there will be hot water in the house.
The solar water heater is an economical solution and very friendly to the environment.
more use of the for the commonweal
photovoltaic panels on the top of the bus stations produce enough electric power to make lights and information boards work…
street lamps are using electric power produced by tiny photovoltaic panels that are on their top…
clocks watches
mobile phone chargers
calculators
and toys…
Fireplace A fireplace is an architectural structure made of brick, stone or metal designed to contain a fire.
Historically it was used for heating a room cooking heating water or even enlighten a room
In addition to all its advantages we should mention the pleasure of a family gathering around the fire the geniality or the romantic atmosphere
ENERGY FIREPLACEThe energy fireplace is an even more economical solution.
It has efficiency It doesn’t need a lot of wood It can heat a whole house
thanks to its piping It doesn’t pollute the
environment
Except from wood itself, several other materials that come directly or indirectly from the plants’ world can be used for the production of energy (electric power & heat) and biofuels through different procedures. Those
materials consist the biomass and the energy produced
is called bioenergy.

wind energy
Wind turbine
The movement of the wind (wind energy ) is converted into electricity by wind turbines. The wind turns the turbine blades , which spin a motor which generates the current .The electric power can• be fed directly to the main power network• stored in batteries • heat water
wind turbinesfor home use
wind turbines parksIn well chosen areas, where the wind blows hard, the state places a large number of wind turbines that are capable of producing enough electric power to cover the area ‘s needs in electricity.

Hydroelectric power plants
Hydroelectricity is the term referring to electricity generated by hydropower.
A hydroelectric power plant converts • the potential energy of dammed water and • the kinetic energy of falling or flowing water to electric power, with the use of a water turbine and generator
Water is often used at home not exactly as an energy source , but as the mean for the thermal energy (heat) to be transferred all over the house. Through the radiators’ piping the running water is the one responsible to keep every room warm!
Traditional «machines» working by hydropower
A traditional washing machine for heavy fabrics or carpets (!) and a water saw for the cutting of huge trees’ trunks are two old mechanisms which take advantage of the high pressure of falling water.
Watermills all over the world are the simplest proof that the renewable sources of energy were always part of everyday life.
Geothermal power plants
Geothermal energy is thermal energy generated and stored in the Earth, it is Earth's internal heat.
All geothermal power plants basically convert heat to electricity. They use steam (dry steam from below ground or steam produced by super-hot water) to turn large turbines, which run electrical generators.
Geothermal power is cost effective reliable sustainable and environmentally friendly
residential geothermal heat pump
A geothermal heat pump is a central heating and cooling system that transfers heat from or to the ground.
It uses the earth as a heat source (in the winter) or a heat sink (in the summer).
Statistics
The EU's Renewable energy directive sets a binding target of 20% final energy consumption from renewable sources by 2020. They are also each required to have at least 10% of their transport fuels come from renewable sources by 2020.
All EU countries have adopted national renewable energy action plans showing what actions they intend to take to meet their renewables targets. These plans include sectorial targets for electricity, heating - cooling and transport.
Every two years, the EU publishes a renewable energy progress report. In 2014, the projected share of renewable energy in the gross final energy consumption is 15.3% ( 2012 => 14,1% … 2005=> 8,7% ). The latest report from 2015 states that 25 EU countries are expected to meet their 2013/2014 interim renewable energy targets…
are you ready for some changes…?
renew your habits…use renewable sources of
energy!!!
