If some new technologies are to be
adopted such as connected cars are to
become widespread and successful –
latency becomes a major issue.
Networks such as 4G gave a latency of
around 15ms. Connected cars requires
on average 5ms.

Generally large datacenters have been placed where energy costs are lower and space is inexpensive.
To overcome the above issues – Edge datacenter must be placed much closer to the users.
These datacenter will be generally smaller but more of them in a kind of mesh network arrangement.
