2.3 INSTALLATION

2.3.1 OIL COLLECTING TRAY

WARNING The collecting oil tray is not symmetrical. Install the tray with the ropes and the pillar in the position as shown on the layout.

WARNING Place the collecting oil tray over the pit floor before the installation of the guide rails.

2.3.2 PEDESTAL AND PISTON

2.3.2.1 PEDESTAL FOR PISTON

• Verify the dimension of the piston-pedestal with the indications on the project drawing.

Place the piston-pedestal in the square support of the fixed element for ropes connection (already existing on the beam of pit bottom) and fix it (# 2.1).

2.3.2.2 GUIDE BRACKETS FOR THE JACK

• Install the upper guide-brackets of the piston (# 2.2), to use to fix the higher part of the cylinder, in the positions indicated on the project drawing. In case of jacks longer then 5 m set another bracket at the half of the cylinder length. Install the lower guide-brackets of the jack (# 2.3) putting it over the pedestal.

The piston is fixed using a centring screw. It is not necessary to use a collar.

2.3.2.3 JACK

• Insert the socket head cap screw in the bottom of the jack • Insert the jack into the base-plate of the lower guide-bracket maintaining the lifting ropes

slightly tensed. • Plumb the jack according to the project drawing. • Tighten the headroom side fixing screws and the central screw. • Verify that all headroom fixing screws have been tightened. • Verify that the jack is straight and fix it. • Block the jack with the collars on the guide-brackets. • Remove the lifting ropes and move the hook of the crane out of the working area.

• In case of multi-stage jack perform the seams according to the indications contained in the packaging and wait until 4 hours before filling with oil. (to leave to dry the glue)

2.3.3 PULLEY FRAME

To install the pulley frame follow this instructions: • Loose the fixing bolts of the shoes • Remove the central fixing screw from the piston • Insert the crossbar between the car guide-rails keeping the base of the pulley frame in axis with the piston. • Place the base of the pulley frame over the piston • Insert the screw into the head of the piston • Tighten the central screw of the piston Push the shoes against the guide-rails and tighten the fixing bolts

2.3.4 OIL PIPE

• Connect the valve to the piston following the instructions of the hydraulic material installation manual

• Connect the pipe to the piston valve, following the instructions of the hydraulic material installation manual

• Rotate the piston until to have no interferences between valve, pipe, ropes and car frame.

2.3.5 PLACING ROPES

• Place the middle of the ropes into the pulley groove without to connect

the wedge sockets. • Do not remove the safety protection.

2.3.6 SAFETY GEAR

We supply the safety gear mounted and, if progressive, calibrate for the suspended load declared.

2.3.7 ADDICTIONAL SAFETY GEAR FOR HEADROOM REDUCED - EN81-21

If you have a system with reduced headroom, the supply includes an additional instantaneous safety gear installed on the upright, placed over the standard safety gear. Verify that it be mounted as shown in figure

2.3.8 UPRIGHTS

• Insert the DBG shoes on the uprights • Lean the uprights (# 2.4) against the guide-rails • Tie the upper side of the uprights to the guide-rails to avoid that

them fell down • Verify that shoes and safety gear are in the correct position on the

guide-rails

WARNING

The car frame is not symmetrical. Install it with the ropes connection and the pillar placed as shown on the layout draw. Install the lower crossbar and the ropes connection as show at § 1.3.9

2.3.8.1 SLIDE FOR FINAL LIMIT SWITCH

• Install the slide brackets on the upright on the same side where the intervention device (AMI) will mounted.

• Use the bolts, existing into the mounting holes

• Tighten the bolts only after that the lower crossbar is installed

2.3.9 CROSSBARS AND EXTENSIONS

2.3.9.1 MOUNTING THE ROPES CONNECTION ON THE LOWER CROSSBAR

2.3.9.2 LOWER CROSSBAR

• Insert the lower crossbar between the uprights

• Insert the bolts in the fixing holes • Do not tighten the bolts

2.3.9.3 UPPER CROSSBAR

• Install the upper crossbar on the uprights • Insert the bolts in the fixing holes • Do not tighten the bolts

WARNING Verify that the car frame is at right angles Tighten all the bolts (also those premounted), taking up the slack in the holes.

2.3.9.4 EXTENSIONS

• Fix the extension to the base of the car frame inserting bolts in the slots (see picture.)

2.3.9.5 FRONT CROSSBAR

• Install the front crossbar as shown in the picture.

2.3.9.6 THICKNESS FOR EXTENSIONS

• Use the thickness at the end of the extensions

to fix the car in the correct horizontal position as shown in the picture.

2.3.10 SAFETY DEVICES –STANDARD SLINGS

2.3.10.1 SAFETY GEAR

If you find any changes to the factory settings, adjust the safety gear following the instructions on its installation manual.

2.3.10.2 DRIVING LEVERS OF THE SAFETY DEVICES

• Install the driving levers of the safety gear as shown in the pictures.

WARNING Lever and plate shall be free to move. Do not tighten the self-locking nut (ð).

• Install the safety switch of the safety gear as shown in the picture.

Install the cross-beam using bolts as shown in the picture

WARNING To avoid vibrations and noise, verify that the cross-beam stay at an adequate distance from the wall of the car.

2.3.12.2 PEDESTALS LENGTH

The pedestal for the buffer is provided of standard size and almost always it's necessary to cut it to obtain the required length.

To obtain the correct cutting length of the pedestals please refer to the project drawing and the following procedure:

Always verify, on project, the following distances: Std HF [mm] F (pit) ? P (car floor) 80 D (distance buffer / car frame) 40 A (buffer) 86

• To obtain the correct lenght, use, as shown in the picture, the following formula:

H= F-P-163-D-A-3-4 (H Standard = F-376)

2.3.12.3 BUFFER

• Install the buffer as shown in the pictures

2.3.13 BRACKETS FOR CAR FIXING

2.3.13.1 SLINGS STANDARD AND H27

• Fix the car using the proper couple of brackets - To fix the bracket insert the bolts into the

upper crossbar (see picture) - Fix the car inserting bolts in the

corresponding slot.

2.3.13.2 SLINGS H25

• Fix the car using the proper couple of brackets - To fix the bracket insert the bolts into the

upper crossbar (see picture) - Fix the car inserting bolts in the

corresponding slot.

2.3.14 SHOES ADJUSTMENT

• Loose the nut on the internal side of the upright • Adjust the position of the shoe, turning the hexagonal eccentric nut (see picture) • Align the car frame to the guide axis. • Tighten the nut on the internal side of the upright.

2.4 ROPES

2.4.1 ROPING OF THE SYSTEM

For a correct and safe roping of the plant, refer to the following procedure:

• Pass one end of the rope into the wedge socket. • Fix the rope with the supplied clamps. • Hook the wedge socket to the fixed connection element of the

ropes on the bottom pit bar. • Pass the other end of the rope into the wedge socket and fix it with

2.4.2 TENSIONING OF THE SYSTEM

For a correct and safe tensioning of the lift please refer to the following procedure: • Fix the maintenance keyboard to the car frame post. • Position the bottom of the car or a provisory plan on the car frame and fix it with bolts. • Load the car bottom with at least 200 kg. • Raise the car frame unwinding the flexible cable. • Once reached half of the travel, fix the flexible cable with the bracket to the guides and unwind the cable

portion remaining into the well, so that it can follow the upward and downward travel without rolling up. • Send the piston to the up stroke and compare the measures with the project drawing. Measure the upper

extra-travel of the car and adjust the ropes in compliance with this length. • Move the car to the lowest station and compare the measures with the project drawing.
