It was indeed a splashing good time at the Sengkang Swimming Pool as we celebrate the completion of Term 3.

It was FUN .. FUN… FUN !

Left to right:

Isabel said her pink balloon was meant to be a heart and that she could squeeze it, though it might burst.

Maya had a pink Doraemon bracelet that would light up when she pressed the cartoon character.

Joshua used the Jurong Bird Park map to trace the route he took and shared some of the birds he saw.

Christy was excited to show her friends the pop-up flash feature of her pink toy camera.


Love 2

Thaddeus and Avril compared their toy handphones. Thaddeus held a flip phone while Avril’s was a slide phone.

Jayne showed everyone her pink clip that she clipped her hair with.

Sophie revealed what was inside her Penguin pouch. The pouch contained some ice cream erasers and a necklace.

Gavriel told his friends that the plastic bag is used for wet clothes.

Benoit used his toilet roll like a telescope.

Mathematics

- Math is Fun:

a) Revise the shapes song: Point out the shapes to your friends as they sing the song

b) Form shapes using ice cream sticks (rectangle, square, triangle and diamond)

Peace

a) Measurement (Length) - Non-standard unit/Standard unit (cm)

- Comparison of lengths using non-standard unit of measurement


- Measuring lengths of different objects with a ruler

a) Measurement: non-standard unit

b) Activity: In groups, measure the length of a straw and a cd cover given using lego blocks

- Activities: Number recognition (1-5) through a game play

a) Turn the pole and shout out the number that has been revealed

b) Run to the person with the same number as the number revealed and take his/her place

c) Person wearing the tag will run to reveal another number.

Game continues until all numbers have been revealed.

Mass Activity

Bringing back an old favourite with a little twist for the last Fun & Movement class of the term!

Holding on to a colour ball each, the children were challenged to pay attention and listen to the groups called.

Examples: “Blow all who are wearing slippers!”

“Blow those in Love class”

“Blow those with the colour ball that matches a colour of the rainbow!”

“Blow those with the same colour ball as ________!”


Aesthetics (Music & Movement)

The children learn to sense the change in dynamics in the song and use their bodies to respond accordingly:

- Getting down onto the floor and lying down to sleep

- Hopping around energetically
