was born in continuity with the initiative of the

³Quality Charter in Surgery´ and

wants to spread a culture of quality and safety

by the selection and promotion of best practices and

performance targets to support the processes of

assessment, benchmarking and

quality continuous improvement

Hosp. (for about 150 O.R. and 18,000 sick beds)

the study showed, among other things

a good spr ead of clinical best pr actices (86%)

but on the contr ary

a clear lack of active involvement of the patient in

scheduled safety measur es (lack of empowerment)

the 5th European Patients¶ Rights Day and

to contribute for putting Citizensat the Centre of EU Health Policy

has organized a major initiative to listen to

the Citizens¶ demands

A mobilization of 258 Units of Surgerythrough a questionnaire,

based on the contents of the ³Charter of Quality in Surgery´,

on what the Citizen ³asks the surgeon´
