    The success of any business lies in the effective and efficient decision

    making of its personnel at various levels. Information Technology (IT)

    plays many roles from using simple technology to billion dollarinfrastructures. Todays mangers need to refine their skill sets towards

    making effective business decisions which holds the key forcompetitive advantage. Many IT tools have been developed over time

    ranging from low end to high end to take care of simple to complexbusiness problems. Nowadays, most of the mid size and largeorganizations expect their employees and the new entrants to be

    acquainted with these tools and their business applications. Thebusiness community now needs to concentrate on how the software

    can better empower users to retrieve, view, filter, manipulate, and

    understand huge data sets or else be forever struggling just to stayafloat in an ocean of data that promises to grow at a rate higher than

    we have already seen.

    This course is an effort to make management graduates comfortableon how to apply IT in various business functions and how to use

    common business softwares for decision making capabilities.

    The course is intended to help learners the following:

    1. Understand IT application framework for decision making in

    various sectors and different processes.

    2. To be aware about various IT tools and its applications, whichcan be used for supporting business decisions.

    3. To understand the utility of software like Excel in various

    business problems.4. To learn various managerial issues arising from and dealing with

    IT and systems including strategic issues in business.
